Sir, again, with all due respect, I admire your insights. But bankers are not divided. They are agitating unanimously against those who betrayed their trust.
So, what do you think caused this? Were bankers not united?
When all the social media handles of the banks suddenly started targeting their own employees and portraying them negatively before the general public, they were united.
Even after so much agitation, they sacrificed their only weekly holiday, and two officers lost their lives in a road accident. They were united because they believed in their leaders. They believed that, whatever happened, this time bankers would get their demands fulfilled.
But then, suddenly, out of nowhere, a circular appeared saying: “STRIKE DEFERRED.”
Do you think, sir, that was fair? Just ask yourself.
I am not disrespecting you in any way. Just answer me.

Dear Neha,
I really wanted to meet you today at Jadavpur University, but unfortunately, work kept me away. I was genuinely disappointed to miss the chance, especially when you were in Kolkata.
I’ve been following your journey for quite some time, and I really admire your courage and the way you continue to speak your mind. You’re inspiring many young people to stand up for what they believe is right, and you’re someone many of them genuinely look up to. I really hope we get to meet very soon.
@neha_aisa
Dear @YourKoel, you said the Rajya Sabha gives you greater power to serve people. But you already had that power as a TMC MP. So, what exactly changed this time, - the power, the purpose, or the party? 👀
@honubroto@SayantikaSays@KunalGhoshAgain
You are speaking of unity, sir, and rightly so. But you are missing the very reason why bankers are frustrated today.
Bankers were united for the much-awaited strike. They stood together despite pressure, publicity campaigns and, in many instances, humiliation by their own managements. That unity was real. The deferment of the strike by the top UFBU leadership, however, has shaken that very unity.
You speak of not breaking unity. Then the first question should be: why were the member unions allegedly not consulted before such a crucial decision was taken? If the claims of individual union leaders are correct, that is a serious question of accountability.
Individual bankers may not know what happens at the top negotiating table, but they certainly deserve to know what was discussed, who took the decision, and why the strike was deferred without a clear written assurance.
Unity cannot mean unquestioning acceptance of every decision taken by the top leadership. Unity requires trust, transparency and accountability.
You rightly say that divided platoons cannot fight a mighty Government. But a leadership that ignores its own members cannot expect those members to remain united indefinitely.
The frustration of bankers did not appear overnight. It was built over years of unresolved issues, and this time, the deferment of the strike exposed the deep credibility gap.
So, before lecturing young bankers about unity, perhaps the senior leadership should first answer the legitimate questions of the very members who stood united behind them.
Bankers want unity. But they also want accountability. They want leadership that listens to them—not leadership that decides for them.
Thank you, sir. Hope you are enjoying your retirement benefits along with Mr. @ChVenkatachalam.

You are senior. You must know the damage you are doing to banking Trade union arena?
You were wrong, you are wrong, you will be wrong. Starting new Association, nurturing and making that as bargaining power is not an easy task.
Today's unions are the result of 5-6 decades unity.
First principle - Don't break unity, come what may.
Second - Never forget the first.
Today all have ganged up just to gain popularity. Popularity comes by achievement.
When issues of merger, consolidation and next COD comes up, what will you do? Fight as divided paltoons?
Just not 5DW, falling parity of salary vis a vis LIC is big question.
Gen Z will ask you to day or tomorrow.
Divided platoon cannot win anything, not to talk about a war.
Hope good sense will prevail upon all of you. If you can't talk to each other, how will you talk to might Govt?
My 38 years of involvement in trade unions says seniors must be guiding posts to juniors. Not house breakers or instigators.
Try to clinch issues for young bankers being together. Not pitching one against other.
@TamalBandyo Record business growth without enough staff is unsustainable. Workload is rising, while the long-pending demand for 5-Day Banking still remains unresolved.
@DelhiPolice Delhi Police demanding journalists’ IDs while officers hide their own name tags, and women journalists reportedly mistreated, is pure hypocrisy. Mumbai Police showed restraint; Delhi Police showed intimidation.

If AI becomes Super Intelligence, the rename is oddly honest. But changing the label won’t change the underlying risk, right? intelligence can scale faster than wisdom. @elonmusk
Nina Miolane’s The Fifth Era of Science examines how AI is moving from assisting research toward generating hypotheses and discoveries. Yet human expertise remains essential for guiding, validating and regulating these systems. The future lies in humans acting as the handlers of AI-driven innovation, ensuring progress remains purposeful and responsible.
And there's an important philosophical point underneath the article:
AI may increasingly answer, “How can we solve this?” but humans will still have an important role in deciding “What is worth solving?”

It’s Sunday, and thanks to UFBU, we’ve actually been granted the privilege of having a holiday.
A heartfelt thanks to UFBU for allowing us this rare luxury of spending a Sunday with our families. Apparently, even Sundays need a little union intervention these days. 😏😂
@kmarkri@alashshukla@bankpediaa@idesibanda
This is deeply heartbreaking. Yet again, an unbearable level of pressure appears to have left a family devastated and helpless. Om Shanti. 🕯️
And after yet another suicide, the familiar explanation comes: “Couldn’t take the pressure.”
But perhaps that is precisely what they fail to understand, some pressure is simply unbearable. Behind every target, deadline and performance metric is a human being, with a family waiting for them to come home.
How many more tragedies before the pressure culture itself is questioned?
Heartbreaking 💔: Indian Bank Chief Manager in Head Office, Chennai, Sh Kanishq Vajpayee committed su!cide today by jumping off the fourth floor of our Bank’s Head Office Building. RIP 🕯️
@kmarkri I think taking leave won’t solve the problem whatsoever. Coming to the office dressed in black would show some form of protest, and that might actually work. Taking 12 days of leave out of a total CL entitlement of 12 days would neither be a decent nor a fruitful idea.
