Delighted to be invited again to speak on one of my favorite topics: "Building TRUST in Clinical Trials" and eradicating barriers to #clinicaltrialenrollment at the @SylvesterCancer Design & Management of Clinical Trials Course
Some pearls:
▶️Ask every eligible patient
▶️Earn trust before the trial, show up where pts are
▶️Match language and culture
▶️Use navigators to ensure retention from day one
#clinicaltrialdiversity

Chemotherapy and ionizing radiation are known to promote clonal hematopoiesis and its progression to leukemia. By inducing temporary quiescence of hematopoietic stem cells during external stress might we mitigate CH expansion? We address this through a collaboration with @AbdelWahablab@PuZhang09980432: https://t.co/DUExKVNRSg. Excited to share this and some thoughts from a recent meeting in Hiroshima which puts this work in a broader perspective.
VEN plus INO for RR CD22 ALL - excellent outcomes for a high risk disease - so much more work to be done but a small step forward for our patients! @DanaFarber@DanaFarberNews https://t.co/RqTmkbRR0B
In an international cohort of 865 patients, Shwachman–Diamond syndrome was associated with a high risk of myeloid cancer and poor survival. Early hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation for high-risk features had a potential benefit. Full study results: https://t.co/dmkvgaInzw
Led by the @Penn and supported by RRP,the RUNX1 Patient Tissue Bank provides approved researchers with de-identified blood and bone marrow samples to study RUNX1-FPD biology, develop earlier blood cancer detection methods, improve quality of life, and work toward prevention.
Patients can contribute a small blood or bone marrow sample during a routine appointment at their local clinic, without additional travel.
If you care for patients with RUNX1-FPD, please share this research opportunity with them.
