One of the assumptions this paper is making is small messages will dominate datacenter traffic. However, for workloads such as big data, I'd image we would still have a significant number of large network transfers (in 100s of MBs or more)
"TCP is the wrong protocol for datacenter computing. Every significant element of TCP’s design is wrong: there is no part worth keeping."
It is very rare to come across with papers which make such bold claims.
