UK MP's changed my pension age from 60 to 66 with no notice. Meanwhile they gave themselves an extra taxpayer funded pension so they weren't affected!

#bbcbreakfast I should have been a pensioner now but 18 months before my 60th I discovered I would have to wait another 6 years! Thats £42k worth of pension, gone! MP's meanwhile gave themselves an extra pension to cover those extra years! 'In it together?' I don't think so!

I think you will find their scheme was changed because affected MP's requested it on the grounds they did not have time to prepare for the change to their new SPA's. They vote for their own pay rises too.

@MarinelloIan @LLansarra @cribb_mark Women born in the 50's did not have equal pay, even though the equal pay act came in in the mid 70's, it wasn't effective because women didn't have same jobs as men(they didn't have same opportunities). There were no equality rules covering pension schemes.

@MarinelloIan @LLansarra @cribb_mark It's not just about longevity, it's about treating everyone differently so as to level the playing field. Equalising the pension age does not correct the inequalities of being lower paid and denied access to Company Pension Schemes, it tilts the field against them even more!
