Can’t believe I have to spend the rest of whatever short time we all have left on earth being forced to see AI posters for what used to be cool events + read shitty AI captions on every random post + question if every single piece of media was made with AI
my favorite thing old people do is walk through the doors of a building and then just stop, obstructing everyone walking behind them. a good reminder to pause and reflect.
your critique of ai cannot be entrenched in aesthetics because there will be a time when you see an ai image or hear an ai song and think "that looks/sounds good". your critique of ai must always be entrenched in the poisonous effect it has on people's brains and the planet.
It’s probably fine that vast swathes zoomers and younger millennials exist in a kind of permanent internalized panopticon in which all actions are assumed to be (and interpreted as) performances for a viewer
I hate you blue light I hate you infinite scroll I hate you ai customer support I hate you onedrive I hate you no usb port I hate you two factor authentication I hate you accept all cookies I hate you autoplay I hate you subscription I hate you buy more storage I hate you
i get AI being difficult to avoid when it's been baked into existing services (e.g. google), but chat gpt is the most avoidable thing in the world to me. there's no useful function it could serve in my life, or in the life of anyone with a brain. it's not inevitable or necessary
It's an anti-masker tactic to claim that if you don't wear a mask 100% of the time, it isn't worth it. Untrue. Every single time you wear a mask, you reduce the chances for viruses to spread. Wearing a mask always improves public health, even if you only do it occasionally.
i always say to at least wear them in grocery stores, public transit & med facilities bc disabled ppl still need to access these spaces to survive.
folks not masking everywhere limits our access to society, but not masking in those 3 spaces limits our access to *safe existence*
one big goal i had this year was to become a reader again and so far i've been successful!!
i got a small walking pad treadmill and now i'm addicted to walking and reading. the walking is like a full body fidget and really keeps my hands away from my phone lol
My best tip for anyone trying to get back into reading is to remember that you can read books to avoid other responsibilities in your life, and it can become a vice if you play your cards right.
It's such a harmful Christian theology that looks at wars and famine and says, "This might be the fulfillment of End Times prophecies!" and "Jesus might be retuning soon!" instead of "look at how much people are suffering” and “how can we stop this injustice?"
