Dear Kenyans, Ugandans, Tanzanians, Malawians, Zambians, Namibians, South Africans and Zimbabweans
Stop celebrating someone's death. Its so sad.
Anyway, Deepest condolences to Chivhayo family and friends.
Honourable Hwende, fuck you.
You want to lecture us about Ubuntu while people die in our hospitals with no medicine. People die on the roads because there are no ambulances, no emergency response, no working health system. Close to 100 people died in Kariba and their families were given $100. Meanwhile this dead idiot Chivayo was splashing millions on Makandiwa and celebrities.
Is that Ubuntu?
One of the core values of our culture and our liberation struggle was gutsaruzhinji. Every time we asked Wicknell why he did not put that money into hospitals, the poor, and real public need, his answer was, “I am not the government.” Yet he made that money from the same government.
Do not come and preach Ubuntu over people who had no compassion for a suffering nation. You cannot throw millions around while your own people are dying and then call us un-African for refusing to cry.
Fuck you.
Fuck you again.
Fuck you every morning at 3am.
When Comrade Bombshell Geza passed away, they celebrated, and now they are summoning the spirit of “Ubuntu” because it is best suited. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️ Siyai vanhu vacheme nenzira iri best suited for them... those who mourn are justified, and those who are celebrating also have valid reasons to celebrate the same way you had valid reasons to celebrate Geza’s death, respect that. #RIPChivayos
We’ve watched heartbreaking videos of people in hospitals crying out for basic painkillers. We’ve buried loved ones who died on these roads. Yet now you expect us to sympathize with people who showed no concern for the very citizens they swore to serve? Where was that compassion when ordinary people were suffering?
🔸The moral of the story is that, deep down, people just want a normal, functioning country that gives every hard working citizen the space to thrive - not this mbinga garbage.
We need new leaders.🇿🇼
In Zimbabwe, it is best to let people express themselves however they choose. The privileged often do not care about the poor when it matters most, failing to show sympathy or “Ubuntu” when it is due. Instead, the poor are constantly expected to adjust, and accommodate the privileged 24/7. It is unfair to demand that people suppress their feelings…. 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
When we were saying “Buy ambulances,” they told us, “You can’t tell people what to do with their money.” Now ambulances have to come all the way from Harare to rescue someone in fucking Marondera.
This is exactly why public services and emergency response infrastructure matter.
Last Sunday a @CityofBulawayo professional colleague of mine drove on a newly completed section of the Bulawayo to Victoria Falls road.
At approximately the 25km peg outside Bulawayo he was horrified to see workers patching a section of the new road which is already breaking up. The photograph taken by this person is attached.
I have received numerous reports that many of the contractors on this road are doing a shoddy job and this appears to be proof of this.
The construction of this road is rapidly becoming a national disaster. Next year we have the @ICC Cricket World Cup being played in both Bulawayo and Victoria Falls. If this road isn’t properly constructed and completed by then it will be grave national embarrassment.
I urge the Ministry of Transport @MinistryofTID to urgently investigate and deal with the situation.
Don’t let their propaganda blind you. The ZRP vehicle clearly runs over and kills that person. Not the stampede. Culpable Homicide. They should face the law!!!!!
Soon it appears it will be easier to get to Victoria Falls from Harare than from @CityofBulawayo .
Please can we have an update on the state of the road from Bulawayo to Victoria Falls. The nation was promised that these roadworks would be completed soon but the road is worse than ever.
