@LewSwims@VenturaSpleen@Rainmaker1973 Give them some leeway, Asterix & Obelix is a classic, so a lot of people probably learn & latch onto that spelling before the actual word's.
@ZenlessWorld Where does it say OG Sunbringer split herself in three?
Iirc the old void hunter times were decades ago, a far simpler explanation is just that she had kids.
Occam's Razor, people!
@gamer_polymath@ShitpostRock Strategy games are where you tend to see the heavier examples of integrated DLC.
Expansions for those often overhaul mechanics or introduce entirely new ones, then apply them retroactively to the base campaign.
See Civilization 5, XCOM 2, & basically every game by Paradox.
@gamer_polymath@ShitpostRock While some DLCs are separate from the base game, some games "integrate" them.
Deus Ex Human Revolution is a good example of both; its expansion was originally accessed from the main menu, but then Director's Cut integrated it as a required chapter for the main quest progression.
@ShitpostRock She was found guilty of murder & is being executed.
The game's plot is 16 people locked in a school, the villain will only free 1 of them, & only if they do a murder w/o getting caught.
Villain makes the executions for getting caught very over-the-top.
Solid 8.5/10, do recommend.
@sloth__tv@OfficerH0tpants@Flutaccc@deathyon69@Awk20000 Worth noting that the charges were dropped through a deferred deposition for persons with autism.
DD is basically "Guilty, but with lighter/custom treatment due to mental issues".
The court determined that CWC's ~1.5 years spent in jail during the case was sufficient punishment.
@vasco_holland @deathyon69@Awk20000 No, only the arbiter of criminal penalty.
Legality doesn't define morality, & the social consequences for immoral acts often extend beyond their legal sentence.
Major crimes by public figures typically include the social consequence of no longer being welcome in acting/etc roles
@JohnYakuza0@ShitpostRock Whether it's "one of the best" or just good, the way Gotye rearranged & remixed a variety of samples for its instrumentation is genuinely cool imo: https://t.co/96qPc8sbgc
Anxiety just copying all that work wholesale & redubbing the lyrics is insultingly low-effort by comparison.
@maltedmyconid@DigbyUnbroken@ShitpostRock I give Morrowind leeway since it's old, but if a modern-day game had combat like it then it'd be -essential- for "hits that bounced" and etc to actually animate doing that, rather than the sword magically passing through the target to no result.
@DigbyUnbroken@tokage17@ShitpostRock What I mean is, w/ better animations they could've based if it "hits" on hitboxes, but if it "does damage" on a roll, with different hit visuals for 0 damage.
Ex. in some FPS games your bullets can rarely ricochet off of enemy helmets rather than penetrating and de-braining them.
@DigbyUnbroken@tokage17@ShitpostRock I wonder if higher budget/better tech would've let Morrowind solve this while keeping %hit.
Ex. Have enemies quickly block or dodge any time you roll a miss, or if they can't move then make it look like the hit glanced off the enemy's armor with spark VFX instead of blood, etc.
@UnboundConman@vans_xdd@CharismaOfZero@ScottJund@ShitpostRock In FNV, Chief Hanlon talks about how the NCR is running out of clean water back in Cali.
It's entirely possible that in the intervening 15 years a water crisis pushed them to mass-relocate, with losing Shady (and its recently-discovered groundwater) just being the last straw.
@UnboundConman@vans_xdd@ScottJund@ShitpostRock Season 3 will prob explain it by saying the NCR mass-relocated after Shady got nuked.
We know from Hanlon that they were already running out of water in California 15 years ago, so Maximus' dads' groundwater project failing due to the nuke could be written as the last straw.
@ShitpostRock It would've been neat imo if it was 360-degree camera photos to let you explore the show's actual set.
Just having it be a 3D model recreation seems pointless as hell lol.
@ShitpostRock Everhood.
At least for me, it became obvious fairly quickly that the devs were trying too hard to make an "Anti-Undertale", where the writers were clearly driven by motivations like "Undertale says Killing=Bad, so we'll make a story where Killing=Good!"
@SolidCalaca@ShitpostRock IMO FromSouls games are insisted upon by their hardcore fans, not the game itself.
If it weren't for people like VaatiVidya hyper-analyzing & extrapolating on the lore post-hoc, the perception that those games have "super deep" stories probably would've never caught on.
@noah_allanson@ShitpostRock I feel like FromSouls is more a case of its hardcore fans insisting upon it.
The games themselves don't try to push the idea that their stories are "super-deep", that comes from fans doing post-hoc lore hyper-analysis.
@IKickDogs911@basket_of_bread@ShitpostRock In this analogy, you're installing a mod that removes all of the spiders, when there was already a "Remove All Spiders" toggle in the game's options menu that does the same thing.
So why not just flip the toggle? Do you worry you'll be tempted to turn the spiders back on later?
