@ArmatradingJoan Excited to discover that Dec 10 was your birthday. My partner and I got together after going to your concert in Sydney on Dec 10th, 2014. We celebrated our 10th anniversary by playing a lot of your music. So now that makes the day even more special knowing that.
@JulianHillMP People intend to "celebrate" October 7 the same way Australians "celebrate" ANZAC Day, by remembering the dead. Referring to this as a celebration is a reflection on you, not on the people taking part in the remembrance.
@Canberra_Cat You don't have to be a genius to predict what questions would be asked, like "what are your policies?". However, if you thought one of the questions would be "do immigrants eat pets?" then maybe your preparation wasn't perfect.
@Steviesword@Chrisactevans@colonelhogans In Australia we have a preferential voting system which allows us to not vote initially for either party supporting genocide but still ensure that our vote ultimately gets used against Dutton. Americans don't have that luxury and I deplore the idea of "writing in names" there.
@Steviesword@colonelhogans They certainly ARE election issues, just not issues which allow distinction between the Coalition and Labor. They are reasons for looking for another party to vote for.
@barbpar@Steviesword@colonelhogans If candidates are running for council under the banner of a Party then they are standing for a lot more than how the garbage gets collected and deserve to be judged on the policies of the party they are representing and accepting support from.
@Dreneth@colonelhogans Scomo didn't just question China about Covid. He proposed sending in a WMD-type investigation team without China's agreement. How do you think Australia would react if some country suggested sending in investigators here to check on some claimed scandal (eg. deaths in custody).
@colonelhogans You'd think that would be enough to keep the Coalition out forever but we've seen good Labor Governments turfed out before when the pressure from the media got too much.
