took the day off and somehow still ended up stalking builder accounts for hours. everyone keeps acting like consumer apps are insanely competitive
meanwhile most products i see are either ai slop, bad ux, zero taste, or have zero idea why anyone would come back tomorrow. there are a lot of builders, but there really aren’t that many serious competitors. genuinely good stuff still feels like 1 in 500
whenever people build an app simply because they saw another one doing $20k MRR on TrustMRR, be careful
the TrustMRR boom is a good example. Very few people are asking why those products make money. Most are treating revenue as proof that there’s room for another version of the same thing
but if everyone is looking at the same winners and building the same apps, who’s the marginal customer?
@elia_sollazzi forced days off are weirdly underrated. sometimes you need something to physically stop you from working before your brain finally shuts up about it
a lot of consumer apps i would've called S-tier a year ago have gotten so bloated with AI features, paywalls and growth hacks that the actual product got worse
