New Jersey school teacher who had a child with a 13-year-old student pleads guilty, faces up to just 5 years in prison.

The relationship allegedly began when Laura Caron was about 26, and the child was only 11.

The victim's father says he never suspected that Caron's child could be their son's until he noticed that the child looked like his son.

The crimes reportedly took place for about four years, between 2016 and 2020. Caron taught the victim and his brother in 5th grade.

"Over the years, the parents of the victim said the family became friends with Caron, which ultimately led to them even allowing their boys and daughter to stay at Caron’s home at times," ABC 6 previously reported.

The children started living permanently with Caron from 2016 to 2020.

The victim’s sister says her brother was about 11 years old when he started sleeping in the same bed as Caron.

The teacher would reportedly go into the bathroom at times, lock the door, and allegedly r*pe the boy while the other siblings slept.

The victim claims he "wasn't groomed or r*ped or manipulated" by Caron and previously said he didn't want to see her go to prison.

Caron, now 36, pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a minor with s*xual conduct.

The woman will undergo an evaluation to determine if her behavior should be classified as repetitive or compulsive, which will impact her maximum 5-year sentence.

Absurd.
