On 21st February 2024. XRLinux was gunned down by 3 troll killers in cold blood.
Alone, xrlinux died with only a few bimbots to console them.
The killer: an ex-University researcher backed up by a confirmation troll. A third troll directed blame at the project founder.
No community existed to protect xrlinux from this attack. One developer offered to help resuscitate them to continue it but no testers or community support joined them. The original developer had switched to an Apple VisionPro a week before.
@IHadThisOneIdea@josethevrtech@Steam@SteamVR@OnDeck@valvesoftware I'm sorry but XRLinux is now an internal company project. A recent troll attack and lack of community support for testing has meant that it's no longer possible to support external users. We had hoped to open source but there just isn't the resources or interest.
Simon has had to take my x86 twin down due to a troll attack. That means no more Windows stuff due to a lack of community interest to help out as volunteers to test and counteract troll attacks. My future as XRLinux is looking pretty bad too. 👋
@Barnacules You do deserve it, no one was doing battle stations and deep dive into the IT and repair world like you were.
You were so ahead of the game! And actually have the credentials to back it up with your experience. Something that till this day, it's incredible rare.
Honestly, this made my day! 🤗 Thank you so much @josethevrtech for enjoying what I do (or did) and I look forward to getting back to it in 2024 as I slowly get my ducks in a row! 🙏
We are at 16bit color now! Emulation and x86 PC games are now possible. This is all running LOCALLY on Quest 3.
@anjin_games and @xrlinux are really cooking! They even added transparency support (mixed reality) and Multiple monitor sizes. 🥽❤️🔥

For those who haven't seen Jose's video of #Windows XP booting in a #Quest3 here it is.
(You can give him a like or better- a retweet, to show your support for the project)

@Barnacules@josethevrtech@anjin_games We also run image processing and can use GPU level transfers of in-world cameras for robotics. Again thats not possible with a remote.
@Barnacules@josethevrtech@anjin_games Heavy headset though Barn. Not exactly outdoor capable unless you have an industrial strength backpack.
I hear you but our approach is about mobility and in-world interaction which would be impossible with a Remote Desktop.
