@spencerpratt You were never in any lead. They just counted your votes first. When all were counted the vote ended up right about where every poll said it would.
“You can’t shout fire in a crowded theater” may be America’s favorite bad free speech argument, and @WillAtFIRE agrees.
In my book The War on Words, Nadine Strossen and I explain why it’s misquoted, obsolete, and historically embarrassing.
@ZircCan@HistoryBoomer Cute how quick you go from fascist to Hitler but more than remotely objective to note his first wife had him keeping Hitler speeches in nightstand, chief of staff said he spoke positively of Hitler, whined "his" generals weren't as personally loyal as Hitler's supposedly were.
@MrEvanRoss I voted against Trump four times in past and would again. If I lived in Maine I would have voted against Platner on Tuesday but would vote for him in November. Not because he's better than Collins (he's not) but because party control of Senate matters more than any one Senator.
@ZircCan@HistoryBoomer Yes I think Milley, Kelly and others are objective while you are subjective. Hearing your hero called a "fascist" might hurt your feelz but that doesn't mean it's wrong. You'd be hard pressed to come up with any coherent definition of "fascist" that Trump doesn't meet.
@SeanTrende Some fraud exists. Large systemic fraud needed to overturn LA mayoral and gubernatorial primaries, 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election, 2020 Presidential or anything else GOP called "stolen" does not.
Better analogy is not to wolves, but to those elephants Vaudeville keeps away.
@ZircCan@HistoryBoomer I've called Trump a fascist many times, and I make no apologies for that. Half the people who worked for him in the first administration describe him that way too.
Platner sucks, too.
@RFMpropagandist "God himself" didn't make any religion. Of course the Mormons think their own religion is better than yours. Of course you think your own is better than theirs. That differentiates you .... how?
BREAKING: Ken Paxton’s own lawyer just endorsed James Talarico:
“I defended Ken Paxton for years in the impeachment trial and in state criminal cases. But in my view, I think Ken has lost sight of his core mission, which is to represent the people of Texas.
And unlike Ken, I believe that you, James, believe in unity over division and that you know how to assemble not only Democrats but Independents and Republicans and we need that right now.
We need unity, we don't need any more division and that's why I'm supporting you.”
Trump is exactly what we knew he was. The harshest questions and criticisms of journalism today and history tomorrow are about how a generation of Republican politicians, partisan media, and US voters willingly chose to ignore it for power.
Both are true:
1. Nazi tattoo-loving Graham Platner is a bad/dishonest person who shouldn’t be in the Senate.
2. But if you are a supporter of Donald Trump, you are in NO fucking position to accuse Democrats of “dropping their moral compass” to support a bad/dishonest person.
