This scrutiny, while deserved, never seems to be directed towards other religious groups, even those who offend at MUCH higher rates. This makes catholics question the motives of those who bring this topic up, especially situated within contentious issues like homosexuality

We are worried about it. It is nothing short of a tragedy and those responsible will have to answer for what they’ve done or failed to do before God.

But this has become nothing but a punching bag. The Church has implemented incredibly strong child protection policies.
