@MeyekOnRoute66@DrKERMD@Polymarket Might be other variables, I smoked heavily with a bong and I got CHS once, slowed down and moved away from using a bong and haven’t got it since. It dehydrates the hell out of you, couldn’t even keep water down without puking it up.
@Eric_Deshaun@TheICHpodcast Guys making that wage are saturation divers. Working from a pressurized habitat so they can perform dry welding. Living and working from special habitats so they don’t get decompression sickness. I prefer being a land welder to be honest knowing the risks those guys take.
@ElMorganovich@TheICHpodcast Those guys probably work in saturation diving, move from a saturation chamber to a welding habitat then back to a saturation chamber. Not just a job you can go and do and come back to surface right away, probably spend weeks under the surface as well.
@BummDClownMR @1of1Jones One of my neighbours forgot to set his while parking on a hill, truck slipped out of gear or something and took out my gas meter, had to evacuate the entire block just incase there was an explosion
@yoxics Looking at her phone instead of focusing on the road. Signal, check rear view mirror, side view mirror and shoulder check blind spot, switch lane if safe to do so. One smooth movement in seconds. She would have known that car was coming up fast if she did that.
@imfat It’s not bad if it’s worth your time, 40 hours a week should pay the bills and then some, everything after that should be seen as a bonus. Don’t let yourself get fucked by working 40+ to make ends meet.
@InfonicCS@DominicEla70927@canuck9610@hornsyaps Hockey was a rich kid sport, gear is expensive and when you are growing up you constantly have to get new gear as you grow out of it by the next season
@ADH1802@HLTCO Canada was wild for sports, I remember when Canada won 2010 Winter Olympics, every household in Canada had that game on. Could hear the entire city of Vancouver cheering that day if you were in the harbour.
@muheediva01 Home provided lunches, had to use a school program, was half a slice of brown bread with a slice of cheese and a packet of mustard for lunch. Sometimes they would just give you a bag of bell peppers that came surplus from farmers.
@theucrownedking@Tekeee Ended up being the biggest slap in the face in my career. Won’t give me a raise but will fly in 5+ non local guys and pay out travel and LOA, while cutting my hours and pay me at $12 below the national average as a journeyman, making the same wage as I did when I was 17
@theucrownedking@Tekeee I don’t know if employers value that mentality. I was what you call a company man, always there when needed and was reliable. Wouldn’t pay me enough so OT was my bread and butter. Got outsourced and lost 34% of my yearly income.
@theistinthought@Tekeee@kautzmania Just need to be sure that that wage at ST can also provide a living. OT should always be seen as a bonus, and if you have to make a living on OT, then prepare yourself to take your skills elsewhere when your employer cuts your hours.
@PyreauxB Welding is stronger inherently but there is so many factors that only a welding engineer could really explain as to why and when you use these connections, a floor joist will almost certainly be a bolted connection, while a column will tend to be a CJP welded splice.
