@BasedMikeLee@elonmusk@Woman28American Your mouth is a holster for foreign Indian money. POS liar f*ck. Base defiler! We know what your priorities are, Indian cuckerino. Take a risk for once. Experiment in being moral and supporting your own country. No?
@elonmusk Basically nonsense. He's done nothing about the hollowing out of the middle class via corporate demon-people engaging in the mass importation of cheap replacements. You're complicit too. It's why you've never said a word about worker visas since 11/24. You know we're right.
You can’t outwork the whole world. There’s always going to be someone somewhere willing to work as hard as you. Someone just as hungry. Or hungrier.
Assuming you can work harder and longer than someone else is giving yourself too much credit for your effort and not enough for theirs. Putting in 1,001 hours to someone else’s 1,000 isn’t going to tip the scale in your favor.
What’s worse is when management holds up certain people as having a great “work ethic” because they’re always around, always available, always working. That’s a terrible example of a work ethic and a great example of someone who’s overworked.
A great work ethic isn’t about working whenever you’re called upon. It’s about doing what you say you’re going to do, putting in a fair day’s work, respecting the work, respecting the customer, respecting coworkers, not wasting time, not creating unnecessary work for other people, and not being a bottleneck. Work ethic is about being a fundamentally good person that others can count on and enjoy working with.
So how do people get ahead if it’s not about outworking everyone else?
People make it because they’re talented, they’re lucky, they’re in the right place at the right time, they know how to work with other people, they know how to sell an idea, they know what moves people, they can tell a story, they know which details matter and which don’t, they can see the big and small pictures in every situation, and they know how to do something with an opportunity. And for so many other reasons.
So get the outwork myth out of your head. Stop equating work ethic with excessive work hours. Neither is going to get you ahead or help you find calm.

@NiallHarbison I routinely go back and find the video of Anthony doing his greeting song. Probably my favorite transformation of the whole lot. Most mean, aggressive mammals/people are just hurt and confused. Love and support solves it. One of the great lessons of your work. 🙏
Promised her a better life when she invited herself into @happydoggothai after being abandoned in the jungle.
Look at Buttons now.
That smile is priceless ❤️
@Theo_Chilton We all have this gradual realization. You think people are where they are for good, credible reasons. After all, you worked hard for it. Didn't they? The answer is No. And it wasn't until I ran across the sixth incomprehensibly incompetent Indian that it started to dawn on me.
@BarefootStudent@ChillMode2345 It's time for crypto-martial activity, do you see. Government doesn't solve problems, people do. Act accordingly. Rabid animals only understand the boot and fist. I say, speak their language. Indulge them. Metaphorically of course.
@DerekAyala1987 Because India is an unsolvable problem. There's simply no way to manage the amount of amorality, filth and corruption. They haven't even solved basic plumbing yet. Everyone lies and steals. It's total chaos. Worse still, they keep making more Indians. Impossible situation.
@Hogsnyder@LexHart919@newstart_2024 See, this makes sense. Facebook (and the larger ad infrastructure) knows you are married, they know households, know location. This completely tracks. Mattress guy (or his wife) probably searched for mattresses in addition to talking about it. Mics don't background listen.
@SeveriansScar@SoritesMinor@adesertdryad@RMcban@ReReadingWolfe He held a rational version of the world and morality given his position and life. This is a huge part of the character. Under duress and normalization, torture makes sense. Like war, where Wolfe saw people tortured to death by fire. It was coherent (normal) in that situation.
@MaindreTheFloop@rubbercrumbs She literally is a sex doll. I think you (reasonably) missed this nuance. She was built with special properties of attraction; she's not an organic human being. Her connection with Jonas is critical here: they are engineered people. Severian was a victim too, do you see.
