@FordJohnathan5 It seems quite possible that the US military is putting pressure on the president against continuing with his mad schemes which are all hypothetical anyway.
@petercarrell Good to be “slightly annoyed“ by the low esteem in which our Faith is held in wider Society. But for me it is it has always been shockingly obvious that the quality of our ecclesial Christianity almost directly contradicts our profession as followers of Jesus the Christ.
Extraordinarily depressing. It will probably spell the end of this strange coalition which has taken us backwards in a sense for three years.
- or so it seems to me overall.
Hard to spin this as an economy on track, although no doubt there will be attempts to do so. It’s hugely depressing to see #NZ in this sad state. “61 shops announce closures in 10 days: Will liquidation numbers get worse before they improve?” https://t.co/UIuX0UXcAk
@petercarrell Deeper discussion yes please though not from a starting point of view only of what we lack. Not that you’re proposing that Peter. And not that the Hebrew and Christian sense of profound “ lack” need to be of the essence of any viable political economy. My concept too clipped?
@CatholicHerald Something is definitely happening within the Catholic Church. And it is happening deeply. This is true throughout society and we do well to look for the unexpected.
@SeanPlunket Great to have your expression of compassion for all in this shocking situation. Tom may well have been a great guy who got caught into a bad mental space and built himself into something permanent there.
@deadheading7 @harryjsisson This terrible tangle so brutal to “sexualised” children so clearly entangles BOTH “liberals” and “fundamentalists “ in one humungous lethal net in the which we liberals and our fellow – human conservatives destroy one another rather than seek to understand one another.
@Acyn Amazing fellow, this current present president is. He doesn’t seem to mind being seen with his pants down as in this Smithsonian book burning attempt. Can it possibly succeed?
@cath_cov@petercarrell Herbert can be a cheeky devil towards divinity as in this quote even if it is certainly not characteristic of him. Thanks Peter. Herbert is just the greatest - no doubt about it.
