Me too.

Last week, I gave my first speech on a space. And let me just say, I sucked.

I sounded nervous, scared, and all around unprofessional.

After listening for about a minute or so, I immediately wanted to crawl into a hole and hide.

But here's what I did later today to get rid of the unpleasant feelings: I had coffee with a real-life friend and told him about it. We both laughed, and I felt 10x lighter than before.

I reflected on how I told the stories to my friend. I was humorously discussing this and discussing various ways I could improve.

Realizing that it's okay to suck and that everyone makes mistakes was a stepping stone for me. It was a small step, but it was a step in the right direction.

If you're afraid of public speaking, or if you're just not very good at it yet, don't worry. You're not alone. We all suck at something when we're first starting out.
