Believe me when I say this: one of the greatest factors driving Sunnis toward Shi'ism is the misinformation they are taught about Shi'a beliefs and practices.

Time and again, when I speak to converts to Shi'ism and ask what led them to change their views, I hear the same story. They were told that Shi'a Muslims believe certain things, engage in certain practices, or hold certain doctrines. Then, when they decided to investigate for themselves, they discovered that many of those claims were exaggerated, distorted, or completely false.

The issue is not that they were exposed to Shi'ism. The issue is that they realized they had been misinformed about it.

If there is one piece of advice I would give to Sunni preachers, it is this: stop misrepresenting the Shi'a. Present their beliefs accurately, even if you disagree with them. Because every time someone discovers that what they were taught about Shi'ism was untrue, it does not weaken Shi'ism in their eyes, it undermines the credibility of those who misled them. Ironically, what is often intended as a defense against Shi'ism has become one of the most effective catalysts for people embracing it.

Egypt charges $300,000 – $700,000+ per transit through the Suez Canal. Ultra-large container ships or tankers can exceed $1 million.

Panama charges $150,000 – $450,000 per transit. Large Neopanamax ships cost up to $500,000+ to pass the Panama Canal.

Turkey charges fees for the Bosporus Strait.

Canada charges fees for the St Lawrence Seaway.

The United States charges for the St Lawrence Seaway.

But Iran is a bad country.

To demand exhaustive knowledge before taking a moral stance sets an impossible standard that conveniently benefits the oppressor.

By that logic, no one could ever condemn injustice until they possessed insider intelligence.

Our faith does not demand perfect knowledge before moral action.

There is a point where the truth becomes clear enough and that threshold was crossed long ago.
