Today, I joined fellow Principal Secretaries from the National Treasury, Roads and Transport, together with Kenya’s Ambassador to China, H.E. Willy Bett, for a high-level meeting with H.E. Liao Min, Vice Minister of Finance of the People’s Republic of China, in Beijing.

We reaffirmed Kenya’s strong partnership with China and discussed accelerating cooperation in transport, water and technical training, as well as advancing the Panda Bond initiative and the completion of the SGR to Malaba.

I called for deeper collaboration in the water sector, particularly in advancing the Bosto Dam and Keben Dam projects, which are already in the pipeline for support.

We remain committed to partnerships that deliver transformative infrastructure and improved services for Kenyans.

The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Beijing is a strategic mission, given China’s importance to Kenya’s trade, investment, infrastructure development and economic cooperation.

During my visit to Beijing, I paid a courtesy call on Kenya’s Ambassador to China, Amb. Willy Bett, and his team, and commended their efforts to advance Kenya’s interests and deepen engagement with Chinese institutions and investors.

Particularly encouraging is the progress in agricultural exports, especially tea, coffee and avocados. Kenya initially accessed the Chinese market with frozen avocados and has since secured access for fresh avocados, creating greater opportunities for our farmers and exporters.

✅️A modern convention centre ( sorry a conference room at a hotel is NOT a convention centre). When KICC was opened in 1974 now that was visionary leadership.

Once the above happens then hotels follow because all the above is firmly in place.

I salute investors who have placed their faith in Nairobi and MagicalKenya by putting up all these great hotels branded hotels for that matter placing Kenya on the world map despite the challenges I have listed.

Your excellency @WilliamsRuto William Samoei Ruto during your first term you want us to hit 5 million visitors a year then we need the following:

1. Fast tracking JKIA total revamp , you were in UAE home to Emirates and Dubai. They can play ball and that will help Nbi counter Kigali & Qatar air marriage . When Emirates was started in 1985 with two leased aircrafts from Pakistan Airlines KQ was already flying around the world big time. It's never late in life to attempt anything.

2. Get a strategic investor for our national carrier, again the same UAE players can help on a win win basis. Nairobi will work very well for Emirates but good corporate governance is a must by these players . Once that happens then we should not fear open skies policy as we roll out the red carpet for any country / airline that has signed BASA with Kenya.

3. GOK has plenty of land , give free land for a proper modern convention centre . BOMAS is ready for a modern centre even KICC can be remodeled and revive the CBD. Cities around the world their CBDs are treasured . For Mombasa Shanzu prisons is sitting on huge tracts of land , ideal for a convention centre even a Talanta stadia to boot. North coast resorts will then be home to MICE business while Watamu and Diani serve the leisure market. Malindi should follow same model as Mombasa , sort out the perennial squatter issue bedeveling Malindi airport and we are good to go. Ethiopian is even ready to fly direct to Malindi in its current status.

Well as a patriotic Kenyans and a passionate hotelier , tourism professional i will not tire since Tourism is my tribe.

I dont know @KhalifKairo at all. Of course, I occasionally see him on X living on the fast lane. He has some small second-hand car business that lately got him into trouble. But it sad to see some lowlifes rejoicing at his misfortunes. Good people, all types of businesses face challenges and difficult times. And this young man is facing business challenges. Taking to court isn't how to treat young aspiring Kenyans trying to make money is difficult and hostile business environment. I'm willing to mediate between him and the complainant and resolve this matter amicable. I can help!
