HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025
The year that has just ended has been tough and dramatic. But it has also showcased our capacity to withstand existential problems and pull back from the brink as a nation. The year 2024 showcased our staying power and determination to preserve our oneness as a people, no matter the magnitude of the challenges. However, many of the challenges of 2024 are crossing with us into 2025. It is going to be upon us, as Kenyans, to decide whether to carry on, divided, bitter and cursing into 2026, or to find a way of coming to the table, discussing our problems jointly and agreeing on a mutual solution that secures our country and provides a template for our beloved continent of Africa. The choice is entirely ours.
Wishing a happy new year 2025 to all Kenyans.
Raila Odinga was a true champion of democracy. A child of independence, he endured decades of struggle and sacrifice for the broader cause of freedom and self-governance in Kenya. Time and again, I personally saw him put the interests of his country ahead of his own ambitions. Like few other leaders anywhere, he was willing to choose the path of peaceful reconciliation without compromising his core values. Through his life, Raila Odinga set an example not just for Kenyans, but across Africa and around the world. I know he will be missed. Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family and to the people of Kenya.
Do you know that the longest and the best judgment of the Supreme Court of Kenya was actually written by a former judge of the Court of Appeal the late Prof Otieno Odek on the instructions of the Office of the President? @Kenyajudiciary@CJMarthaKoome@jsckenya
