A part of me wants this election to be over already, regardless of who wins. A part of me is wondering how a country of such a small size is struggling to count votes.

Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission has invalidated the results of a third polling station following the June 8 parliamentary elections.

The decision concerns polling station 12/13 in the village of Abovyan, Ararat Province, where election officials found that ballot paper No. 8 was missing on election day.

According to the CEC’s decision, the polling station had 809 participants, a figure recorded as the total size of the identified discrepancy. Materials related to the case have been forwarded to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The vote distribution at the polling station was:

▫️”Civil Contract” Party: 602
▫️”Strong Armenia” Alliance: 71
▫️”Armenia” Alliance: 67
▫️”Prosperous Armenia” Party: 9

The decision marks the third polling station whose results have been invalidated by the CEC since the election, following the earlier annulment of polling stations 10/51 in Yerevan and 35/65 in Meghri.

They claim to hate Russia because Putin is an “authoritarian” who rigs elections.

They claim to hate Robert, Serj, and Levon because of authoritarianism and stolen elections.

Yet here they are, proudly supporting a political force that just secured its third term through some of the most blatant election rigging of the 21st century:

• record numbers of criminal prosecution of opposition figures right up until election day

• Widespread, documented voter coercion and forced attendance at campaign rallies

• Mass voting by soldiers three hours after polls closed

• The Prime Minister declaring victory when only 11% of votes had been counted

All of this authoritarian theater… in the name of fighting authoritarianism.

And let’s not forget the grand finale: They treat Putin as the ultimate enemy, while viewing the ultimate authoritarian leader Ilham Aliyev, also the man who took Artsakh from us, as a potential “partner.”

These are the pseudo liberal Armenians who still support Nikol….

Democracy intensifies in #Armenia

An opposition figure who passed the electoral threshold is announced hours later that he is short by 0.004%, granting the ruling regime a 3/5 majority they otherwise wouldn’t have.

He requests a recount.

The next day Pashinyan initiates criminal proceedings against him.

So far in the Armenian elections, 526 of 2,005 polls have been counted. 239,686 of 1,456,097 votes have been counted, about 16%.

Pashinyan - 51.1%
Karapetyan - 23.3%
Kocharyan - 9.7%
Tsarukyan - 4.1%

Important not to forget about wasted votes, which are currently around 12%. Looking grim for the opposition, as expected.

🚨 First Election Results Released

The first polling station results from Armenia's parliamentary elections have been published, with votes from the Vardashen Penitentiary Institution now available.

Out of 74 votes cast:

▫️"Strong Armenia" Alliance: 30 votes (40.54%)
▫️"Armenia" Alliance: 18 votes (24.32%)
▫️"Civil Contract" Party: 17 votes (22.97%)
▫️"Prosperous Armenia" Party: 5 votes (6.76%)
▫️"National Democratic Pole" (AZhB): 4 votes (5.41%)

The "Strong Armenia" Alliance finished first, followed by the "Armenia" Alliance, while the ruling "Civil Contract" Party placed third.

The result is particularly notable given the broader debate surrounding detentions, opposition arrests, and the existence of political prisoners in Armenia ahead of and during the election period.
