Justice Mohammed Shaffiq of #MadrasHighCourt orders omission of the names of TVK president C. Joseph Vijay and general secretary Bussy Anand from a case filed by TVK lawyer M. Gnanasoundari of Villupuram to consider her name for the post of a law officer. The High Court Registry had listed the case today for deciding its maintainability and the petitioner's counsel agreed not to press the case against the private respondents. The #MadrasHighCourt is all set to celebrate on Monday the completion of 134 years since the inauguration of its heritage building. Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari would declare open an exclusive lounge for designated Senior Counsel on the occasion. The High Court's Heritage Committee comprising Justices G. Jayachandran, P.T. Asha, C.Saravanan and N. Mala has given a new lease of life to the entire building by giving attention to even small details such as the lighting inside the court halls and on the corridors. Senior Counsel N.L. Rajah too had been actively involved in the process.
