That number is only for first night USA viewers, you realize people outside the US watch it too, right? And most people don’t watch it the second it airs, especially Memorial Day weekend.

First night US viewership is a very small percentage of the fan base, even in the US most watch it later

Also,worldwide viewership over time is how the success of a show in the streaming age is determined,the companies want it to retain subscribers over time, and I don’t think HBO releases watch time

Art is subjective, so ultimately the only metric that should matter for whether or not it’s good is your own. If it’s something you think you’d enjoy, watch it.
