We experienced this, for about a month we were using jinaclip self serve, for creating image embeddings for extracted figures from pdfs. This was to implement multimodal search across pdf files. Eventually decided to move away from image embeddings altogether since it seems it’s quite domain specific. Photos of products, graphs were inaccurate. But it was fast.
