Met the LEGEND @knowkenny at #MumbaiTechWeek2025 @mumbai_tech_ —where tech bros and punchlines collided! 🎤💻 His session was a crash course in “How to Not Cry in Public”:
1️⃣ 𝘗𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴 = Bombing on stage: Smile, blame the WiFi, and never let ‘em see your Notes app.
2️⃣ 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘮𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 = 𝘏𝘦𝘤𝘬𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘴: Out-laugh the awkward silence.
3️⃣ 𝘉𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘵 = 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘪 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘥-𝘴𝘦𝘵: A universal crisis.

Shoutout to #MumbaiTechWeek2025 for proving tech isn’t just 𝗔𝗜, 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻, 𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗹𝗼𝗻’𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁. Sometimes innovation is laughing at your own pitch deck and realizing 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗩𝗖𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁. 🔥

I recently had the privilege of attending an incredibly insightful session led @ISBedu by @VusiThembekwayo , the Group Chief Executive Officer of @MyGrowthFund Venture Partners & @SchoolOfScale & @club100_vt . With over nine years at the helm, Vusi has been instrumental in backing extraordinary African founders, aiming to build 300 sustainable businesses and create 100,000 jobs by 2030.

Vusi, a seasoned investor and a strategist with an Executive MBA, a Corporate Finance certificate, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, shared profound insights on various facets of business growth and leadership. His accolades include being named the Best Impact Investment Firm 2020 - Africa at the Worldwide Finance Awards in London, UK.

One of the key takeaways from his talk was the importance of trusting your gut in deal-making, despite what the numbers may suggest. He also delved into effective strategies for onboarding co-founders, negotiating, and prioritizing tasks—essential skills for any leader aiming to make a significant impact.

As a global speaker, author, and public speaking world championship finalist, Vusi's ability to articulate complex concepts into actionable advice is unparalleled. His session not only cleared many of my doubts but also inspired me to implement these learnings in my endeavors.

"When in Doubt, Simplify"

I recently had the incredible opportunity to attend an enlightening session by @ericries , the renowned entrepreneur behind the global movement of the @leanstartup methodology. As the author of the @nytimes bestseller @theleanstartup book that has reached audiences worldwide with over one million copies sold and translations into more than thirty languages—Eric’s insights are invaluable. He has not only founded several startups, such as @IMVU where he served as CTO but also has extensively advised startups, venture capital firms, and large corporations including GE through his FastWorks program.

At the session held at @iventureatisb at the @ISBedu , I sought advice on navigating challenges as an engineer venturing into the healthcare industry, a field far from my original domain. Eric shared his personal experiences of founding the @ltse , emphasizing the importance of empathy and the necessity to adopt the language and nuances of the new field to effectively communicate and connect. His advice was to engage deeply, familiarize oneself thoroughly, and build a network within the industry to continuously learn and adapt.

Furthermore, Eric expounded on the practical applications of the Lean Startup principles, particularly the concept of the concierge MVP. This approach is instrumental for anyone looking to test their business hypotheses directly in the market, especially in B2B contexts, offering immediate feedback and iterative learning opportunities.

This session was not just a learning experience but a profound reminder of the potential impact of innovative thinking in entrepreneurship. I am eager to implement these strategies in my venture and am profoundly thankful for the chance to gain insights from a leader like Eric Ries. The journey of learning and adaptation continues!

I recently had the distinct pleasure of meeting @srthkahuja at an event hosted by the Indian School of Business @ISBedu . His arrival was a moment of genuine inspiration. As I approached him to express my admiration, he warmly invited me to sit beside him, a gesture that speaks volumes about his approachable nature.

During his talk, Sarthak emphasized the importance of following one's heart and creating a personal path rather than conforming to the predefined routes laid out by others. His guidance was clear: choose the extraordinary, not the ordinary. This philosophy not only resonated with me but also echoed throughout the auditorium.

Sarthak generously offered insights into my business challenges, providing practical advice that I found immediately applicable. His approach to content as a form of arbitrage—a method of leveraging different perspectives and values—was particularly enlightening.

It was an incredible experience meeting @Akshay001 , the innovative Founder & CEO of @leverageedu , during his visit to @iventureatisb at the Indian School of Business @ISBedu . Founded in 2017, Leverage Edu empowers young individuals to make informed decisions about their careers and education, supported by tools like the world’s largest content library at Wings, and a range of apps for study abroad and test preparation such as LeverageLive, Leverage IELTS, and Leverage TOEFL, all underpinned by the Univalley OS platform for universities.

Akshay's down-to-earth approach and infectious humor exemplify the quintessential Delhi spirit. His willingness to engage deeply on topics from crisis management to investor relations provided immense value far beyond the scheduled two hours. His readiness to assist at a moment’s notice was evident when he instantly connected a colleague with the right expert. Learning from Akshay’s journey in building a company from the ground up was both educational and inspiring.
