Just explain what a quant is to my mom and what i do on daily work. (Also that we don't just play satta bazi in market😂). Also the details of what is an exchange, difference between MFT and HFT data feed, ML etc.

At the end everything is either a regression or classification
Linear regression = a single straight line fit.
RNN = regression/classification on sequences, but with memory.
Transformer = regression/classification on sequences, but with attention-based memory.

i was reading Chris Olah's (@ch402) 2014 blog on convolutions and convnets yesterday, and this paragraph just made me smile. "used a new kind of neuron (ReLUs) and a new technique to reduce a problem called 'overfitting' (DropOut)" hahaha, these things that are second-nature now were so mind-boggling back in the day. so cute :)

They can guide you to what you should do in particular thing but they don't have that much time to sit next to you and teach you.
