Taking the time to dig into the 5 Core Teacher Propositions and my standards has provided so much clarity for me while revising my writings for component 3. So many “aha moments”! #NBCT
@modernclassproj@EducatorAdele Do students take the clip they feel best reflects their understanding on the current assignment from beginning to the end or is this more of a check in tool throughout? I love this idea!
Thanks @sharon_says_so for the grant over the summer. Today I’m able to give every family at parent teacher conferences letters, numbers, whiteboards and markers to add to their resource library at home!
Completed my Component 1 exam today and after finishing all 4 components this year I only have two words for a reflection: extraordinary and wow! @NBPTS
Submitting my components for National Board Certification is a bittersweet feeling of relief and wondering if I submitted everything at its best. Guess we’ll find out in December. @NBPTS
I just realized I have been calling Punxsutawney Phil “Pennsatucky” all day to my 1st Grade students and am waiting for the phone calls to roll in from parents who are @OITNB fans asking me why I am teaching their child about a fictional prisoner. Whoops. #pandemicteaching
Knowing that my students would not let somebody drink my coffee makes me very happy. Knowing they see my addiction to @Starbucks makes me realize how much I actually drink coffee.
@lmtclarke @NBPTS I am working on component 2 for the Early Childhood Generalist certificate. I have taken a deeper dive into getting to know my students and their needs than I ever have as a result of writing about my classroom.
Already seeing changes for the better in my teaching and I am only into the introduction of my component for National Boards. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me! @NBPTS
Going into the weekend before school starts feeling excited rather than nervous or anxious because of the amazing support and collaboration that my team and school have shown this past week. #bettertogether
We made it! This group of kiddos overcame many obstacles the pandemic threw their way. We had a “table talk” today to talk about our favorite parts of First Grade! It wasn’t a carpet time, but I think they liked this much better. #teacherproud
On @MichelleObama ‘s podcast I heard a quote that’s helpful as an educator in COVID times where there’s no “normal” but only a chance to be creative and adapt to daily changes. “Don’t reach for normal, reach for better.” -Michelle Norris
(1 of 2) Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an inspirational figure to me and countless others. Not only was she an advocate, a trailblazer and a voice for the voiceless, she was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
