Great eras end before anyone is ready.
Melbourne’s ended noisily and publicly.
Simon Goodwin, Christian Petracca, and Clayton Oliver are all gone.
In their place is a new coach, a new style, new hope – and a new era.

That was a great game today. We played so bloody well. Just couldn’t convert as usual. Wasted some good chances. We did a lot right against the best team in it.
A no-call here as Kysaiah Pickett appears to be tripped. 👀

@flagdees Forward line needs Tmac down there when lever comes back in. Not enough experience down there especially when Fritsch isn’t doing much and missing Pickett
McClure's failed predictions throughout the year/trade week:
- Oliver wants out and it will be to the Crows.
- Hawthorn willing to cough up pick 3 for Bailey Smith.
- Clarry cleared locker, refuses to be a Demon, will be a Cat.
- Zach Merrett will sign with St. Kilda due to personal relationships at the Saints.
- Trac wants out, Carlton is open to trading McKay.
- Jack Viney will sign with North Melbourne.
- Dusty will sign with the GC Suns.
- Kozzy Pickett wants to be traded.
For WEEKS there seemed to be daily stories surrounding Clayton Oliver. Give the kid a friggin' break.
Admittedly, we'd be fools to think that there isn't an issue at Melbourne, and I'd love to have been a fly on the wall at the club the past few weeks.
But, there is zero accountability from journo's in the AFL world. The reporting over the past few weeks has huge implications, whether true or false, on the club and the players involved.
Cal Twomey is about the only major mainstream AFL reporter worth listening to.
