I need to say one last thing about Lauren Hough. I'm going to mute this.
Both sides are wrong.
#Authors shouldn't comment on #bookreviews#Bookreviewers shouldn't review a #book they didn't read.
It's the vitriol of both sides that makes everything harder.
@RWalkerOfficial@AI_EmeraldApple With Frieren, I know you're thinking about the whole demons are evil thing, but I actually think the right wing is actually depicted by Serie. The idea of leaving society as it is rather than making changes, while Flamme and Frieren represent the drive to improve and change.
@kevin_wiener@SketchesbyBoze I'm consistently blown away with how many haven't. Ask them about Kpop demon hunters and they all have. High school students.
@kevin_wiener@SketchesbyBoze I've had students who were reading What Remains of A Day and The Color Purple, but they never have watched The Princess Bride or ET. They know literary classics, but don't hold movie classics in the same light.
@kevin_wiener@SketchesbyBoze If you compare media for small children then yes that holds true, but I'd argue the story of Cinderella still holds up in written form the same way. Once children are older they are much more likely to read old classics than watch older movies.
@kevin_wiener@SketchesbyBoze Books have a longer shelf life. A book 100 years old looks visually similar to a book published this year, while films from 100 years ago are visually much different.
@netlawyer@SketchesbyBoze The comment was the new generation are unlikely to appreciate these media, not that none do.
Toy Story
Clueless
The Truman Show
The Matrix
I'm making a connection to how I feel about movies from 20 years before my birth and how kids nowadays would feel.
