They’ll throw trillions of dollars at the Mars salesman because he promised rockets, robot servants and AI girlfriends for lonely shareholders.

Then Big Tech jumps in screaming that AI will do everyone’s job, solve every problem, love you and use all your electricity and water.

Thirty seconds later they’re drowning in the shallow end because nobody found the profits, the neighbors want the data center gone, and the workers are not cheering for the robot wearing their name badge.

Meanwhile the boring guy asking where the power, metal and fuel come from has been face down in the pool since the last commodity boom.

The SpaceX IPO is the most brazen retail fleecing in modern market history.

NASDAQ has REWRITTEN the index rules specifically for this listing. The 10% minimum free float requirement: gone. The 3 to 12 month seasoning period before index inclusion: cut to 15 trading days. Companies with small floats can now be weighted at 3x their actual float.

Translation: every passive index fund, every 401k, every pension is about to be force-fed SPCX whether they want it or not.

And what exactly are they buying?

Class A shares carrying ONE vote each, while Musk holds 93.6% of the Class B super voting shares at TEN votes each. That gives him 85.1% of voting power on a 42% economic interest. He cannot be outvoted. He cannot be removed. CEO, CTO and board chairman simultaneously.

For reference: Zuckerberg controls 61% of Meta. Buffett 35% of Berkshire. Musk: 85.1%.

SpaceX is also claiming "controlled company" status, exempting it from needing a majority of independent directors. Shareholders waive the right to a jury trial. They waive the right to class actions. Mandatory arbitration only, courtesy of an SEC rule change pushed through on a party line vote last September.

🇺🇸🇨🇦L'ambassadeur états-unien au Canada soutient la revendication de Trump de faire du Canada le 51ème État.

Il est difficile de comprendre même comment un ambassadeur officiel peut oser poster un message pareil.

Il nie littéralement le droit à l'existence de l'État dans lequel il est en poste. Il insulte l'entièreté des Canadiens et leurs institutions démocratiques. C'est une atteinte profonde à l'indépendance même du Canada. Bref, c'est un immense insulte diplomatique.

Cette diplomatie de l'insulte voulue par Trump n'a pourtant presque jamais porté ses fruits. D'America First, Trump se dirige vers un America Alone ce qui ne semble pas l'inquiéter plus que cela. Il semble déterminé à faire ce qu'il veut sans se soucier des conséquences de ses actes une fois qu'il ne sera plus au pouvoir.

Pour le Canada, ce post de l'ambassadeur US est une insulte intolérable et mérite amplement son renvoi immédiat. Ottawa et Washington ont toujours été extrêmement proches et voir ainsi les USA saccager la relation entre le Canada et les États-Unis, c'est vraiment un coup de poignard dans le dos.

Que restera-t-il de cette relation bilatérale lorsque Trump sera parti ? Des accords pourront être signés à nouveau, et sans doute qu'il y en aura, mais la confiance et l'amitié entre les peuples mettra des décennies à se réparer.

Bon courage aux Canadiens, il reste encore 2 ans et demi à tenir.
