She continued, “Then you built Nollyhood, you didn’t not wait for Hollywood to tell the African stories, you picked up your camera and told your own, and everyone knew Mr Ibu.”

Talking about sports, she also mention that, “In football, you became the first African country to win the Olympics in 1996. Anthony Joshua, 2X Heavyweight Boxing Champion”

“Nigerians, your children are everywhere, Business, Medicine, Law, Technology, Universities, Sports, Music, Films, Literature…I can go on and on…”

Every crown carries a choice, to be worn, or to be spent. You chose to spend yours, on the midwife in a rural clinic, on the mother who survives childbirth because someone built the infrastructure of care around her, on the girl who grows up believing health and dignity are not favours but rights. That is a rarer nobility than blood confers, though yours carries both.

Four thrones; Ijora, Iganmu, Iru, Kaiama, is not a coincidence of lineage. It reads more like a summons, that wherever royalty touched your name, it would find work already waiting to be done. Decades into that work, the throne and the vocation have become difficult to tell apart, which is exactly as it should be. They don’t make them like you anymore for you are an outlier even amongst outliers.

On this birthday, I do not merely celebrate the years, I celebrate the compounding of a life given deliberately, in an age that mostly gives itself away by accident. May the dawn that follows this one meet you neither slower nor smaller, but simply further along the road you chose before anyone was watching. I am super glad to be a mentee that remains teachable.

@originalproflle You see what I mean, you can't beat a child, still you don't want him to cry. Things are tough for Nigerians, let them express their pains. Our leaders should come forward to tell us what they have done or doing to to reduce economy hardship.
