IN HAUSA:
“There has never been a government that has made as much effort to tackle the security challenges as the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
— Major Yahaya Shinko, security expert and analyst.

🇳🇬 FUEL SUBSIDY vs PRICE MODULATION
🔹 Subsidy: Government pays part of the fuel cost so Nigerians can buy petrol cheaper. The government bears the financial burden.
🔹 Price Modulation: Fuel prices are allowed to reflect market costs, but sudden increases are smoothed out. Under the new proposal, refiners and importers absorb temporary increases and recover the difference when costs fall.
The difference? Subsidy reduces the price through government spending, while modulation aims to reduce sudden price shocks without restoring the old subsidy system.
The big question: Will Nigerians eventually benefit through stable fuel prices and lower transport fares?
The new fuel modulation policy is basically about stopping petrol prices from jumping sharply whenever global oil prices or the dollar rises. https://t.co/yJFjIrR2lU
It is now very obvious that Atiku Abubakar @atiku is a pained and very bitter fellow. The pain and bitterness stems from the fact that he feels President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT finally outsmarted him politically to get the most coveted position of President and he can’t mentally deal with this fact. What we are witnessing with all his recent tantrums against Mr. President, veiled as opposition heroics, is actually a higher form of DEPRESSION in the field of mental health called AGITATED DEPRESSION.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu was Governor of Lagos State at a time when he was Vice-President of Nigeria and was generally regarded as politically ahead of President Tinubu in the pecking order of those who aspired to be President. This is not a forum to restate the political journey these two eminent politicians embarked upon when both left their offices as Vice President and Governor in 2007, both in union sometimes and in disunion some other times, with both of their eyes fixed on the ultimate prize.
However, through a combination of fate, luck, divine interventions and political dexterity, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu finally clinched the Presidency AT THE FIRST TRY as against his never-ending ambition since 1993. Here lies his pain, anger, despair and depression.
But let me remind Atiku Abubakar that, despite all the invectives he has poured on the President of late, power is given only by God Almighty, not by man. My most favourite Bible verse since I was 10 years old is actually Ecclesiastic 9:11 which states:
"I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all."
We should all pity Atiku Abubakar rather than goad him on. Those close to him should actually administer anti-depressants on him. Rather than win supporters, he will lose most intelligent ones by his recent posturing.
Atiku Abubakar urgently needs mental health support at this critical time as he finally peters out into political oblivion.
We [Nigeria] are still not at the point where we can give Dangote Refinery 700,000 [seven hundred thousand] barrels of crude oil; we don’t have enough to service Dangote Refinery.
Minister of Finance Taiwo Oyedele explains why Nigeria doesn’t currently have enough crude to meet local production demand.
#PoliticsToday
Date: Feb 11, 2026.
Price : N774
Place : Nigeria
President: Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Subsidy status: Removed
The price above was billed for further fall in this same country, under this same government and with subsidy gone as naira kept appreciating steadily against the dollars and the economy was on recovery and the world was enjoying relative peace.
But in the last week of that month, Israel/U.S. attacked the country with the third largest oil reserves in the world, Iran (The country that also controls the Strait of Hormuz through which a large percentage of crude are transported).
On February 28, the Supreme Leader of the country, Ayatollah Khameni was killed in a air strike.
Iran retaliated by attacking Israel and US allies in the Middle East like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Iraq etc.
People who have real minimum education (not just a sheet of paper called certificate with some ropes called tie) knew that the global oil market is in trouble.
There can not be war in the Middle East and oil price will not rise.
It is not possible.
And because Nigeria is on planet Earth, not Jupiter or Saturn, it rose here too.
So a people that were seeing N750 a litre winking to them closely started waking up to N850, then N950, then N1,100, then N1,400.
And then because we will vote in January, Atiku, a major promoter of subsidy removal since his days as vice president suddenly said that he would bring back what he had, on several occasions, called fraud, fuel subsidy.
He lamented over Yar’adua’s inability to complete the removal which he said that their administration had a 16 year plan to remove it.
But he wants to be president by all means and there must be something to put before the people since this appears to be his last run for the office after running since 1992 with no success.
He knows that a lot of Nigerians especially those who display their paper qualifications without a corresponding level of knowledge would shout Hossana to his fraudulent campaign slogan.
Let us leave the man.
He will fail again.
Some Nigerians clamour for a return of subsidy but when the president who has said in several of his national broadcast that his government would intervene when and where necessary announced just a month discount yesterday, these same people said it’s vote buying while those who read one or two primary school novels among them called it Greek gift.
So what if he returns subsidy which they said that they want but which we agreed that must go?
Latin gift?
Vote rustling?
Anyways, if the discount is a return to subsidy, start smuggling and let us see what profit you would make.
Under Tinubu’s administration, Nigeria will not return to the cancerous subsidy regime.
We were here when the price of a litre of fuel was heading towards N750 without subsidy just a week before the Middle East war started where 194 other countries in the world are faced with the same challenge.
We will be here when it will start falling again from its present high price when the war ends.
And when that happens, these same people will say it is vote buying.
If it happens before the election.
They will say so because Iblis has taken over their hearts but they think that they are agitating for people’s welfare.
And those who think that Atiku will win as a result of the oil price spike which is a global phenomenon are only hallucinating.
“In saner climes, the focus is only on competence and good governance, not ethnicity or ability to speak a language.”
“We shouldn’t be talking about who can speak Yoruba in order to choose a leader; governance is more important.”
Mr Labalaaba - “We should not leave governance and focus on a candidate’s ethnicity or ability to speak Yoruba.”
No be Kemi and her British passport dey collect wotowoto so for saner climes?
If you happen to collect any passports, the people who gave you the passport will remind you that you are a foreigner.
“I believe that to be British is about a lineage in this country, a collective ancestry.”
“Well, you have a British passport, but you're not part of the collective ancestry.”
“You go to China, they would laugh at you. You go to Russia, they would laugh at you. For some reason in Britain… anyone can be British, but in every other country it's very obvious who's of that country and who's not.”
Well, Nothing screams inferiority complex louder than the desperate urge to claim another people's culture and history. Know your roots. Own your identity. Be proud of who you are.
2027 is not a laboratory for electoral experiments:
1: Political parties have been collating results since the 1950s.
2: NGOs and election observers also collate figures.
3: So what exactly is the noise about independent collation? A new discovery or recycled political theatre?
4: Let nobody confuse public collation with constitutional authority.
5: INEC conducts elections and declares results; the courts determine disputes according to the law.
6: The Chief Justice cannot swear in a President based on social media figures or parallel results outside the legally established process.
7: Collate all you want. Publish all the figures you can. But you cannot manufacture a shortcut to Aso Rock
8: Democracy runs on evidence and the law, not noise and self-appointed electoral authorities.
I have never collected a single kobo from APC, and I'm not expecting anything from them. I have my job, I earn my living, and I'm comfortable taking care of my family and enjoying life.
My support for Tinubu is based on my belief that he is tackling the deep-rooted problems that have held Nigeria back for decades. I want to see these reforms succeed because I believe Nigeria deserves a better future.
This is my cause and I stand by it. Whether online or offline, I will continue to speak up for what I believe in. My support remains with Tinubu & I will keep standing by him as we look towards 2031.

"I faced the challenge of trying to become the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It was very, very challenging. It was tough for those who are in the party with me. Some kept faith and instead of dodging the bullet, I took it. Instead of bankruptcy, Nigeria has survived. The economy has recovered and is growing." — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu
