Rainn Wilson says "The Office" probably wouldn’t be made today, telling Fox News Digital that media trends have shifted left and that cancel culture makes it difficult for edgy comedies to thrive.
@SoTeriTeri@DemzDeliver If you think democracy should be gatekept, you’re a fascist idiot. If you think the residents of skid row are not only all voting, but capable of swinging the tides of a national election, then you’ve been watching too much newsmax and Fox.
this is the right move and it wouldve never been a discourse if she never brought it up in the first place. every cast and crew deserve their bonuses and these hollywood bootlickers can kiss my ass
Im so glad people can share their entirely uninformed opinion filled with hate and vitriol of an industry worker’s experience while simping for venture capitalists and overpaid network execs and producers at the same time ☺️
@nakmuayracer@QTarantino_ Who the fuck says that and expects to get hired? People hire you in this industry because of your work ethic, your creativity, your personability, and your ability to operate within a budget. From the limited information we have she’s got at least 3/4 of those.
@javimanzanitas@spencmar@SocialistMormon You don’t know shit about this movie or production, tier 0 productions have wages comparable OR LOWER but include benefits. Producers don’t flip because they don’t want to give up part of THEIR profits but exploit workers for theirs.
@SocialistMormon It’s the same reason poor people vote republican, they think that they could be rich one day! producers will be fine. The filmmakers are struggling to get back after the strikes and flight from Hollywood. It just shows how little they care about the people making their movies.
@spencmar@SocialistMormon You didn’t read. She was encouraged not to flip and did not. She should have, producers would have paid, and both crew and the producers would be fine. This would not have “punched her ticket”, especially if she WASNT UNION. Signed, an active IATSE member.
@CinemarxismBret There should be some sort of retroactive scale pay if your non union movie makes more than a union scale production. So sad to see people put in the most insane hours almost killing themselves to scrape by when the means the help them is right there.
@missmayn Not even 25% of scale pay. That’s why non union work is dangerous; even if it was a tier production it would have at least gotten you healthcare hours.
