When Miss Uganda showed up at Miss World in Vietnam, she wore more than a gown. She wore all seven anatomical layers of a C-section which were turned into art. Designer, Mushirah Abdallah, made sure every stitch honored the scars mothers often carry in silence.

Should You Only Buy Fuel Early in the Morning?
=======
A video circulating on social media advises motorists to buy fuel only in the early morning or late at night because fuel is supposedly denser when it is cooler.
The physics behind the claim is real. Petrol does expand slightly as its temperature rises. However, the conclusion does not fit the way filling stations are actually designed.
Fuel at service stations is not stored in tanks exposed to the afternoon sun. It is stored in underground tanks, specifically because the ground provides a naturally stable thermal environment. While Kampala's air temperature may rise by nearly 10°C between morning and afternoon, the temperature of the soil at the depth of underground fuel tanks changes only slowly and by a much smaller amount.
In fact, petrol would require a temperature increase of roughly 10–11°C for its density to change by about 1%. Such a change is highly unlikely inside an underground storage tank over the course of a normal day.
This is not an accident. Underground storage serves several engineering purposes: it reduces temperature fluctuations, limits evaporation losses, improves safety and helps preserve fuel quality.
So, should you wake up at dawn just to buy petrol?
Probably not.
If you want to save money on fuel, you are likely to achieve far greater savings by maintaining the correct tyre pressure, servicing your engine regularly, avoiding unnecessary idling, reducing aggressive acceleration and planning your journeys efficiently than by changing the time of day you visit the filling station.
Sometimes a little engineering knowledge saves more money than a viral video.
Everything wants proof, even the mountain wanted proof I wasn't just there for the photos. So, this is the formula of thermal expansion that includes the necessary coefficient: ρ15=ρ(T)[1−0.00095(T−15)]
Guess who the minister found on duty at 1am?
Medical Interns. The very people @GovUganda, @MinofHealthUG et al don't want to support with an allowance.
Oh Uganda may God uphold thee!
I don’t know what is more concerning. That the regulator tweeted about a shutdown not sanctioned by them? That the tweet came at 5:00 PM over an incident that happened at 1:00 AM? That the Military Chief declared only he could sanction reopening the media houses? That a public order to arrest media lead @SueNsibirwa came via X? That the CDF actually believes the press should be 'guided by cadres of the revolution,' or that the Head of State (the last known one, at least) allows all this to happen in silence?
How will this be recorded in the history our children’s children read? 🤔 or maybe the ‘writers of history’ will pretend none of it happened!
Demands for decorum are tools of oppression!
Being unkind to someone on Twitter and mocking their pain is not the same as abducting, torturing and killing people.
Comparing the two is misguided and puts the onus on an oppressed group to observe decorum in the midst of oppression!
Uganda’s proposed Sovereignty Bill is the ONLY law in the world openly attempting something this sweeping: it legally turns its own citizens abroad into “foreigners”.
The Bill is explicit. A “foreigner” includes “Ugandan citizens residing abroad”.
That single clause redraws the boundary of citizenship. It means diaspora money, relationships, and even family support can fall under foreign control rules.
So the implications are not abstract.
-A mother in Mbale receiving school fees from her son in London.
-A boda boda rider in Gulu financed by a brother in Dubai.
-A small shop in Mbarara stocked using capital sent from Boston.
All could, in theory, fall under foreign influence rules.
Then the net widens.
The definition of an “agent of a foreigner” includes anyone “directly or indirectly… financed or subsidised” by a foreigner.
Not directed. Not controlled. Simply funded.
-A journalist paid by a locally registered outlet that receives donor support.
-A researcher on a project with partial foreign grants.
-An NGO worker whose salary traces back, however distantly, to external funding.
All can be classified as “agents”.
Clause 22 then imposes a hard ceiling: “a cap on foreign funding of approximately UGX 400 million within any twelve-month period”, beyond which ministerial approval is required.
So:
-A private hospital built with diaspora investment.
-A school supported by an international foundation.
-A construction firm using a foreign loan.
Then comes the sharpest edge.
-Clause 13 creates the offence of economic sabotage, criminalising anyone who “publishes information… that weakens or damages the economic system”.
So:
-A newspaper reporting a currency slide.
-An analyst warning about debt stress.
-A civil society group highlighting inflation pressures.
Even if accurate, such reporting could fall foul of the law.
Finally, Clause 5 prohibits activities that promote foreign interests “against the interests of Uganda”, a phrase the law does not define.
Put together, these clauses do something unprecedented.
-They do not just regulate foreign influence.
-They redefine who is foreign.
-They extend control from politics into everyday economic and social life.
In most countries, including Ethiopia and Ethiopia, sovereignty laws manage outsiders.
Here, Uganda redefined outsiders to include its citizens, basically rewriting the 1995 constitution. Of course it’s in the preparatory and consultation stage and could change for better - or WORSE!
🏷️ 1/ The "Inspire Coffee" presentation at Kyankwanzi is a masterclass in taking credit for global market forces. Let’s look at the actual numbers. 🧵
🏷️ 2/ Claim: We moved from $900M to $2.6B because of "deliberate value addition."
⛔ 👉 Fact: Global Robusta prices hit 45-year highs due to climate shocks in Vietnam. We got lucky.
🏷️ 3/ If "Value Addition" was the driver, our export logs would show a massive shift from raw beans to processed products. They don't. 95%+ of our revenue is still green beans.
🏷️ 4/ Why is a "global brand" being marketed at a political retreat? Real brands are in Dubai, London, and New York. If your only customers are "ideological," you aren't a business.
🏷️ 5/ Billions were allocated to "popularize coffee drinking" in Uganda. Where is the research? Where is the data? You can’t manage what you don’t measure.
🏷️ 6/ We are being sold a "Vision 2030" of $5B. We can get there, but only if we support the FARMER, not the middleman with the loudest microphone and a government contract.

New video footage shows a US Tomahawk missile hitting an IRGC facility in Minab, Iran, on Feb 28, showing for the first time that the US struck the area. The footage also shows smoke already rising from the vicinity of the girls’ school, where 175 people were reportedly killed.
