Bir ses idi.
Bir varoluş idi.

Şu anda ise her gün herkes 2000 yıllık gelişime -kendisinin olmayan- bir “vasat ve amaçsız KOPYA” ile ürün güya ekleyebiliyor tüm bu pastaya ortak oluyor, “ben yaptım” diyor.
“Sanatın değil ama sanatçı kariyerlerin sonu” olarak gösterilen bu çağda, ilginç bir şekilde sanatçılar olmadan nasıl sanat olacağı beya sanatçılar karnını doyuramadan bu işin nasıl olacağı konuları asla cevaplanmıyor ve es geçiliyor.

Bilgi Üniversitesi farklı ve özgün bir vizyonla, bir akademisyenler grubunun öncülüğünde sol liberal kültürün baskın karakteriyle kurulmuştu. İlk kurulduğu yer olan Kuştepe’de mahallede yerleşik Roman halkın öğrencilerle kucaklaşması bakımından da bilinen kalıpları yıkıyordu; okulda konuşulan, konuşturulan konular bakımından da. Üniversitelerde baş örtüsü yasaklandığında talimatlara uymayıp öğrencilere kapısını açmış, yine bir kapatma tehdidiyle dizginlenmişti. Santral’e taşındığında bir festivaller cennetine dönüşmüş, bu kez de üniversitelerde bira ve içki yasağı konusunu ülke gündemine taşımıştı. İçinde müzesi, üniversiteye ait resim koleksiyonu olan bir üniversiteydi.
Kanımca bir “vaha” gibiydi.
Elden ele değişen yönetim ve sahipler onu ilk vizyonundan kopardı; idari bakımdan çürüttü. Yıllardır içeriden, dışarıdan her türlü baskı ve bozgunculuğa karşı karakteri ve kurum kültürüyle, akademisyenlerinin aidiyeti ve sorumluluk duygusuyla ayakta kalmaya çalışıyordu.
Onu kapatarak yok etmek yerine yeniden ayağa kaldırmak; ona bir nefes verip yeniden diriltmek ülkemiz için bir kazanç olurdu. Tıpkı öncekiler gibi onun öğrencileri ve akademisyenleri de farklı kurumlara dağıtılacak. Bir şekilde zaman içerisinde kriz çözülecek. Önceki tecrübelerde görüldüğü üzere bu dosya da ilk andaki tepkiselliğin zamanla yok oluşuyla kapanacak.
Ancak, bir daha Türkiye’de böyle bir vizyon hayata geçirilebilir mi bilemiyorum. Ben de kuruluşundan itibaren 10 yıl bu kuruma emek vermiş bir akademisyen olarak eski Üniversiteme reva görülen bu muamele karşısında çok üzgünüm.
Bilgi Üniversitesi kapatılmamalıydı; aksine yeniden yaşama döndürülmesi için nefes verilmeliydi. Çok ama çok yazık oldu😔

A new United Nations 🇺🇳Secretary General will ​be elected later this year for a five-year term starting on January 1, 2027.

There are currently 4⃣ declared candidates. Next week the SG race reaches a pivotal moment with the kick off of two days of "interactive dialogues" with the candidates at UNHQ in New York.

Here is how it will work⬇️

The President of the General Assembly, Annalena Baerbock, will convene the interactive dialogues.

Each of the four current candidates will have 3 hours to take questions from civil society and UN Member States who request to address each candidate(s). This will take place in the Trusteeship Council Chamber.

Each candidate will have 10 minutes for an opening statement to lay out their vision for the UN followed by the Q&A portion.

The President of the General Assembly has suggested the discussion be focused on the three pillars of the UN - peace and security, development, and human rights.

10am - 1 pm - Michelle Bachelet - Chilean, and two term former President of Chile, former head of UN Women and previously High Commissioner for Human Rights. Nominated by: Chile, Brazil, Mexico. (Chile later withdrew nomination)

3 pm - 6 pm - Rafael Grossi - Argentine and currently Director General of IAEA. Nominated by: Argentina

10am - 1 pm - Rebeca Grynspan - Costa Rican and Secretary General of UN Trade and Development (she recently took a leave to run for SG) and former Vice President of Costa Rica. Nominated by: Costa Rica.

3 pm - 6 pm - Macky Sall - Senegalese and former President of his country. Nominated by: Burundi

After each candidate have completed their interactive dialogue they will be given an opportunity to take make remarks and take questions from the media at the UN GA media stakeout area.

All dialogues will have live interpretation in all six UN official languages

Regional rotation? While it is not written in the UN Charter, rotating the UN Secretary General by region has become an important informal rule and powerful diplomatic precedent that ensures different parts of the world take turns leading the organization. It is currently the turn for the Latin America and Caribbean group; hence why three of the four candidates are from Latin America.

A woman? Since the founding of the UN in 1946 there have been nine Secretary General's. None have been women. There is a big push for a woman this time around. "It's time," is the public and private thinking by many diplomats / UN staff who walk the halls.

Could more candidates run? Short answer is, yes. While the President of the General Assembly has set an informal deadline of April for candidates to be nominated, nothing prevents a "late entry" into the race.

Jensen Huang just told every college student on Earth the one thing that determines whether they get hired.

It is not their GPA.

It is not their degree.

It is not their internship.

Huang: “If I have a choice between two, I would hire the one who’s expert in using AI.”

He did not say prefer. He said hire.

One gets the job. One does not. The only variable is whether you learned to use the machine.

Then he went down the list.

Accountant. Hire the one who uses AI.

Lawyer. Hire the one who uses AI.

Marketing. Supply chain. Sales. Customer service.

Every function. Same answer.

The person who can command the model does not have an edge. They are the only candidate in the room.

Everyone else is applying for a job that no longer exists.

Huang: “If you’re a carpenter, if you’re an electrician, go use AI. If I were a farmer, I would absolutely use AI.”

That line should demolish every assumption about who this technology is for.

This is not a Silicon Valley tool for software engineers.

This is infrastructure for anyone who builds anything with their hands or their head.

A farmer who uses AI to optimize soil, predict weather, and manage yields is not competing with other farmers.

They are operating at a level that used to take an entire department.

An electrician who uses AI to model loads, simulate wiring, and quote jobs in seconds does not compete with other electricians.

They compete with firms.

One person with the model replaces the output of a team without it.

That is not a prediction. That is Tuesday.

Huang: “Every college student should graduate and be an expert in AI.”

Not familiar with it. Not aware of it. Expert.

The university system is still training students to execute the work.

The market already moved. It wants the person who directs the machine that executes it.

Four years of tuition. Thousands of hours of lectures.

And if you walk out the door without mastering the one tool that redefines every industry you could enter, you burned all of it.

Huang: “I want to see what it could do to elevate my job, so that I could be the innovator to revolutionize this industry myself.”

That is the part most people miss.

AI does not replace ambition. It multiplies it.

The carpenter who learns the model does not lose their craft. They scale it.

The pharmacist who learns the model does not become redundant. They become dangerous.

One person. Deep skill. Full command of the machine. That used to be called a company.

The question is no longer what do you know.

It is what can you build with the machine that knows everything.

And the people who cannot answer that are not falling behind.

They already fell.

A Stanford student got reported for academic misconduct last semester.

His research paper was so good his professor assumed he bought it.

The academic integrity hearing lasted 3 hours.

Here's what happened in that room.

The panel asked him to explain his methodology from scratch. He opened his laptop, pulled up https://t.co/7NsPvmOCXF, and started rebuilding the entire paper live in front of them.

First he fed it his raw notes and asked: "You are a research methodology expert. Here are my raw notes. Identify the 3 strongest arguments buried in this data, rank them by originality, and show me exactly where each one challenges or extends existing literature."

The professors went quiet.

Then he ran: "Now simulate a hostile peer reviewer with a PhD in this field. Generate every serious objection they would raise against my thesis. Then tell me which objections actually have merit and which ones I can dismantle."

One professor leaned forward and asked him to stop so she could write down the prompt.

He kept going. "Take my weakest argument and steelman it harder than I did. Show me what it would look like if it were airtight. Then tell me what I'd need to prove to get it there."

Then the one that ended the hearing. "You are my thesis advisor. I have 24 hours before submission. Read this draft and tell me the single change that would move this from a B+ to an A. Be brutal."

He walked them through how he'd used that last output to rewrite his conclusion three times until it held up under every objection in the room.

What took most PhD candidates 6 months of back-and-forth with advisors, he was doing in real-time inside a single workflow.

The panel didn't just clear him.

They gave him the highest grade in the department's history and asked him to present the workflow to faculty.

The irony is beautiful. The paper looked too good to be human because he'd found a way to think harder than most humans bother to.

That's not cheating. That's the new ceiling.

Az önce yanından geçiyordum, (sanırım) annesi aradı "Çalışıyorum şu an çok işim var" deyip kapattı. Beni fark etmedi. Kapattıktan sonra yanındaki arkadaşına diyor ki "Çalışıyorum demek ne güzelmiş".

Şu duyguyu tatmayan, çalışmaktan ışıl ışıl parlamayan, iş arayıp da bulamayan, mesleğini icra edemeyen tek bir gencimiz kalmasın, temennimiz budur.
