📣 YesCymru held an emergency demo on the Eisteddfod Maes today after receiving a letter yesterday from Welsh Secretary Jo Stevens confirming Westminster will not transfer control of the Crown Estate to Wales.
Supporters gathered at the YesCymru stand before heading to the Welsh Labour stand, where Chair Phyl Griffiths and Director Rob Hughes delivered powerful speeches demanding control of our own resources.
Under UK rule, we’re forced to fight for control of our own resources. With independence, we wouldn’t have to!

I am proud that tonight, our Senedd, representing the people of our nation, has taken a stand in the cause of humanity.
I give my heartfelt thanks to all those from across the political parties who supported the @Plaid_Cymru motion calling for ceasefire today.

The @UKSupremeCourt have answered a legal question not a political one. History shows us self- determination can be delayed but not denied. It’s time the UK Govt told us the democratic route to realising the mandate of the @scotparl to hold #indyref2
The Supreme Court decision shows conclusively that the United Kingdom is not a voluntary union of equal partners. The people of every nation should have the right to determine their own future. Sunak and Starmer’s veto must be opposed by every democrat.
Fundamental questions need to be asked about the basic nature of the United Kingdom.
If a constituent part of this so called voluntary union cannot hold democratic referenda on their future - then what exactly is the relationship between Westminster and its constituent nations?
I’m eagerly awaiting the @UKSupremeCourt response to the question of whether the devolved @scotparl can competently legislate for #IndyRef2. However no matter the outcome Scotland’s right to self determination is inalienable & Democracy must be respected.
