@TheGingerBill I think the highest value in this is composability with purity. As long as no individual step in my composition chain can't mess things up for the rest, I'm good.
But it's all a spectrum. None of these contradict OOP. In fact, look at Java. It's verbose, but can be functional

@TheGingerBill To me everything boils down to immutability and first-class functions. Immutability ensures purity and thus gives you thread-safety and the ability to make zero-copy data structures. Follow lambda calculus and you get lazy evaluation, a strong type system with inference, etc.
