“This is not ok. We cannot normalize the National Guard killing American citizens. They shouldn’t be in Memphis at all. The family deserves answers.”
Rep. @Justinjpearson reacts to the news 2 National Guard troops shot and killed Tyrin Johnson in MEMPHIS.
BREAKING: The Louisiana Senate passed a disturbing anti-homeless bill that pushes homeless people into jails, forced treatment, and unpaid labor. Hours earlier, the same lawmakers voted to give themselves $1,000 to cover housing expenses, recognizing housing is too expensive.
Yesterday, we re-launched my campaign for U.S. Congress in Memphis’s historic Orange Mound.
Lawsuits continue. But whether the courts decide on the old district 9 or the new district 9, our campaign is for anyone who’s been failed by the status quo in TN and across our country.
Speaker of the TN House Cameron Sexton just removed me and every Democrat — and therefore every Black elected official in the state legislature from any committee we served on.
This move strips nearly 2 million Tennesseans from the representation they deserve in TN state leg.
Reporter: More than 45,000 ballots have been returned in Louisiana. What happens to those?

Tennessee Republicans are now trying to eliminate the requirement to notify voters when their polling place changes during this gerrymandering mess.
Ask yourself one question:
If everything is fair and legitimate, why would they need to make it HARDER for voters to know where to vote?
Because they know exactly what they’re doing. Chaos and confusion is how they win.
This is insane.
The GOP's newly proposed TN Congressional maps would have people in Shelby County all the way to Williamson County—200+ miles apart—being "represented" by the same Congressman.
It's a blatant, corrupt power grab that would destroy the Black community's and our entire city's voice.
#Project2025 literally outlines a plan to privatize TSA.
But they can’t do that while TSA is unionized.
Defund DHS → TSA agents miss paychecks → people quit → airports spiral → step in with “emergency” fixes → suddenly ICE shows up in airports as the privatized “solution”
