@Dr_M_Davis One of the problem of US strategy is that it only sells so called asymmetric weapons to Taiwan. However it increase the risk of Taiwan to being blockade, shorten the speed between Grey zone conflict to war ...etc, if ROC Navy couldn't upgrade its warship.
5 PLAN vessels, 1 PLA UAV & 7 PLA aircraft around our surrounding region were detected today (September 4, 2022) until 1700(GMT+8). #ROCArmedForces have monitored the situation and responded to these activities with aircraft in CAP, naval vessels, and land-based missile systems.

🎙️ A new episode of #BridgingtheOceans is out!
While the war in #Ukraine ravages on, Taiwan is watching and learning.
This week, @VeerleNouwens is joined by @NorahTaipei to explore similarities between the current war in Ukraine and potential cross-Strait scenarios.
An attempt to control the narrative. Xinhai Revolution was initiated by the KMT party which moved to Taiwan since 1949 and still exist, but the CCP has claimed to be the successor to the Xinhai Revolution for a long time.

In a new piece, @SheenaGreitens and I ask what roles U.S. allies and partners might play in a conflict with China over Taiwan.
It would, or course, depend on the exact scenario, but we conclude that this is probably the best case for Washington:

The new Chinese Type 075 amphibious assault ship can transport main battle tanks from ship to shore for amphibious attack, a combat capability scenario capable of threatening Taiwan and Japan. https://t.co/EnuLaafbCm
Agree, plus there're too many scenarios of the PLA attacking Taiwan. We could not give simple answer on how the US and its allies would defend Taiwan in different circumstances...
@adam_ni Perhaps better questions to ask : 'What strategic costs might the US and its allies pay to defend Taiwan? What strategic costs will the US and its allies pay if it does not defend Taiwan?' That's a far more useful approach to the analysis than your 'poll'.
