Had an engaging morning with bright students as part of CII Young Indians Model Parliament event at Vikasa Soudha in Bengaluru. Chairman of the Legislative Council Shri @horattiofficial and MLA @ArshadRizwan also inspired our youth.
I congratulate Young Indians and CII Bengaluru for hosting this engaging and inspiring session! More students across India should get to participate in such activities which will hopefully inspire them to serve our nation.
Participated in the Young Indians Parliament Student Workshop organized at Vikasa Soudha today.
I addressed the students from various states who participated in the Parliament Workshop about the legislative proceedings, the functioning of the legislative and executive branches, the significance of the Constitution, and public participation.
It's essential to raise awareness among students about these topics to shape them into responsible citizens and encourage their active involvement in our democracy.

We’re a young country with old politicians.. we must aspire to become a young country with young politicians.
India is one of the world’s youngest country, and yet the majority of our elected representation is older.
In Parliament today, I voiced the need for a younger representation, and proposed to reduce the age of contesting elections from 25 years to 21 years.
Pleased to be in the at the Regional Round of Young Indians Parliament, a part of the CII initiative for involving youth in nation-building activities being held at Museum Theatre , Egmore Chennai today.
I am glad to know that Young Indians is driven by a vision to develop a new generation of leaders who bear a sense of social responsibility & ethical practices.
The Young Indians Parliament is a fascinating initiative because it seeks to simulate the workings of the Indian parliamentary system & offer young participants a unique opportunity to understand the intricacies of legislative processes & governance.
A healthy exchange of ideas in legislatures is crucial for effective governance. Without this basic pre-requisite, we cannot make tangible progress as a mature parliamentary democracy. When diverse perspectives are shared, debated, & refined, informed decisions are made.
Becoming a useful member of a parliamentary democracy is not just about holding a position of power. It is about embodying the values & ethics that uphold the integrity & effectiveness of the democratic process.
We remember iconic parliamentarians of yesteryears like Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji, Piloo Mody, Hiren Mukherjee, Minoo Masani, Jyotirmoy Basu, Bhupesh Gupta and others, regardless of the party they represented because by consistently demonstrating exemplary parliamentary decorum, conduct, & ethical behavior, they set a standard that promoted confidence & respect in democratic institutions. They should serve as role-models for youth of today.
