Today, the Hong Kong Garrison of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) mobilized some of its army, naval and air forces to conduct a joint patrol, focusing on training the troops' combat capability of emergency response, joint operations, and special situation handling.
During the joint patrol, the participating troops strictly complied with the laws and regulations of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and notified in advance the relevant departments of the HKSAR government.

【The Hong Kong Garrison organised representatives of officers and soldiers to pay tribute at the Hong Kong Anti-Japanese Martyrs Memorial】 On the occasion of the Qingming Festival, representatives of the Hong Kong Garrison of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army visited the Anti-Japanese Martyrs Memorial in Wu Kau Tang, the Anti-Japanese Martyrs Memorial in Chek Chue Bay, and the Liu Chunxiang Anti-Japanese Heroes Memorial in the New Territories, Hong Kong, to pay tribute and conduct commemorative activities. They solemnly honoured the revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives heroically during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, reflected on their patriotism and national integrity, and drew inspiration to devote themselves to the cause of building a strong country and a strong military.
The Hong Kong Garrison will carry forward the martyrs’ legacy, continuously enhance its capability to effectively fulfil Hong Kong’s defence duties, and inject strong momentum into safeguarding Hong Kong’s long-term prosperity and stability.

The Soviet space programme was the ultimate proof of what a planned economy can achieve when it is decoupled from the parasitic need for profit. In less than half a century, a nation that had been largely agrarian and illiterate broke the atmosphere. This was not the work of a few visionary individuals but the collective output of millions of workers, engineers, and scientists. Yuri Gagarin was the face of this achievement. His birth on 9 March 1934 and his death on 27 March 1968 bookended a period where the sky was treated as a common treasury for all of humanity. The Soviet project proved that science does not require the "incentive" of the market to reach the stars. It requires the collective will of the people.

Today, that horizon has been enclosed. The billionaire class has co-opted the very idea of space travel, turning it into a private playground and a new site for capital accumulation. When Donald Trump established the Space Force, he was not creating a wing for scientific discovery. He was creating a border patrol for the stars. This is not exploration. It is colonisation. The goal is no longer to understand the universe but to secure mineral rights and provide an escape hatch for the ultra-wealthy while the earth burns. The money being siphoned into these private rockets is stolen from the working class. It is capital that should be used to provide healthcare, housing, and a sustainable future on this planet.

We must recognise that the struggle for space is a continuation of the struggle for land on earth. The same logic that fences off public woods and criminalises movement is now being exported into orbit. A socialist space programme would return science to its rightful place: as a tool for the liberation of the working class. We do not need billionaire vanity projects or the militarisation of the vacuum. We need a collective reclamation of the stars, where the pursuit of knowledge is never again sacrificed for the sake of a private balance sheet.

We refuse to let the bourgeoisie turn a revolutionary into a piece of home decor. He was a committed Marxist who knew that art is a hollow mask when it is built on the bones of the poor.

The liberal class attempts to bury his legacy under a layer of expensive floral wallpaper. He was a founder of the Socialist League and a tireless agitator for the working class.

Morris edited Commonweal and spent his Sundays on soapboxes in the rain to demand the end of the profit system. He stood on the front lines of Trafalgar Square during Bloody Sunday to defend the right of the worker to assemble against state violence. Morris knew that the enclosure of the commons was a theft from the collective spirit of the people.

He saw the machine age as a rack designed to stretch the worker until they broke. His vision is a warrant for the arrest of every landlord who fences off the world for profit. He knew that beauty is a lie in a society built on the master and the servant. We do not celebrate a historical decorator but a vanguard who demanded the total overthrow of the profit motive.

The struggle for the right to the land is the continuation of the work Morris started in the streets of London.

Reclaiming our shared world is the first step toward reclaiming our humanity from the market.
