Strengthening Pune’s Energy Infrastructure for Future Growth

Chaired a meeting with a delegation regarding the proposed GIS substation at Bhongavali in Bhor taluka.

Directed MSETCL officials to address the concerns of local residents while developing the transmission line passing through Bhor taluka and the proposed GIS substation at Bhongavali under the Green Energy Corridor. A concrete and positive solution should be ensured to minimise the impact on local citizens while keeping the renewable energy projects on track.

Pune, as a major industrial district, is witnessing a significant rise in electricity demand. Ensuring the timely development of necessary substations is therefore crucial to prevent power shortages in the future. Substation works are accordingly underway in several other talukas across Pune district as well, strengthening the district’s power infrastructure to meet its growing needs. At the same time, the concerns of citizens in Bhor have been acknowledged, and a balanced solution will be worked out in coordination with the Central Government.

Long-Term Vision for Pandharpur’s Development, Heritage and Local Economy

Chaired a meeting with a delegation regarding the Pandharpur TirthKshetra Development Plan at Sahayadri Guest House in Mumbai today.

Directed that the Pandharpur development plan be finalised after considering the suggestions and demands of Warkaris, devotees, local residents, traders, religious heads and public representatives, with all feasible suggestions incorporated.

Instructed that Pandharpur’s development be planned with a 50-year vision, focusing on better infrastructure, improved facilities for devotees and long-term economic growth. With the rising annual influx of pilgrims, integrated planning for the entire city is essential.

With the growing number of devotees visiting Pandharpur, crowd management for the future needs to be approached through scientific and systematic planning. Modern technology and digital tools will be integrated with traditional crowd-management practices to ensure efficient, safe and seamless movement of devotees.

Pandharpur’s ancient temples and maths will remain at their existing locations and will not be relocated. Proper rehabilitation will be ensured for affected shopkeepers, residents and business owners. Alternative shops will be provided, while suitable arrangements will be made for residents of more than 500 affected houses.

Emphasised that Pandharpur’s development must strengthen both pilgrimage infrastructure and the local economy. The plan will focus on making the city safer, more accessible and better equipped for the coming decades.

DCM Eknath Shinde ji, Minister Jaykumar Gore, MLA Samadhan Autade, senior officials and other dignitaries were present.
