Ehennnnnnnnnn
Perfect time for me to say something that has been on my mind for some time now
Your wife is Mrs Blaze though because she married you and she has taken your name most likely
Your wife is also that first class graduate and all the amazing thing you wrote about her
To be called Mrs Blaze does not invalidate her other achievements
This thing makes it seem like Mrs Blaze is a derogatory term or it’s less
She is everything all at once
Ok let me drop her and use myself
My name is still Deborah Ocheido because I am still my father’s daughter
That has not changed because I’m married
I will always be my father’s daughter
But I am Mrs Onafowokan too
I am an author
I am a marketing specialist with honours
I am a mother
If you call me Deborah Ocheido, you’re correct
If you call me mummy William you’re correct
If you call me Mrs Onafowokan you’re still correct
These are all dimensions of me and non makes me any less. It just depends on the angle you’re seeing me from per time
This thing we do where we try to put women in boxes is weird and I think unknowingly we make it seem like some parts of a woman are more important than the other
And I think it happens because women are the ones who have to shape shift and morph with marriage and family
Marriage does not make a woman less
Calling a woman her husband’s name is not derogatory
She is everything all at once
Phewwww, ok that was heavy. Felt good to let it out.
Blessings.
PS: I get his point though. I think he is addressing people that can’t see a woman beyond who she is as the man’s wife. I get that. And it’s annoying. Just saw this as a perfect example to share my thoughts.
You see, back in 2013, I used to be that guy with brilliant ideas but who did absolutely nothing about them.
One day, I attended a pitch event where they needed four business ideas. I submitted three… and they picked all three.
They called my name once. Then again. Then a third time.
And the crowd would murmur each time: “It’s the same guy, he’s already up there!”
So instead of four different people standing on stage, it was just me and one other person. And there I was, standing tall, grinning like a fool, full of pride.
But I later realized something that changed my life: that ideas are BS.
Because I never executed any of them. I kept “refining”, endlessly polishing ideas.
Then one day, I woke up and decided to stop overthinking.
I built my first website, launched my first info product… and soon, I was making enough small change to “pimp up” my small room in our family house and buy an old Audi 80.
That’s when I learned one of the most powerful business lessons ever:
Execution is all that matters.
Sometimes, you just have to jump in and figure things out as you go, ideas are just mental farts.
The people who make the most headway in life are not the ones with genius ideas.
They’re the ones who take something simple… and push the living daylight out of it.
@marto_sway@asemota@ChatGPTapp Is it cheaper than getting a vps, store users international passport and selfie in a hash ? And get a data protection certificate/ license.
Realized most Fuji artistes are Muslims, past and present. Also interesting, that SW Christians have preference for juju (Obey, Sunny) and the Muslims for Fuji (Barrister, Kollington).
Might be worth exploring the SWestern musical divide at the altar of abrahamic faith.
i immediately go silent when something upsets or hurts me. it's a coping mechanism i have developed over time. instead of expressing my anger or frustration, i simply withdraw and try to process my emotions in private.
Organizations are prioritizing high agency over skills. If you are currently job hunting, consider starting a project in your field and zone with the same urgency as if your life depended on it. That project can get you hired.
@Feyisparkles@orcabi_music Yea. well, most businesses in this part of the world prioritize low level onboarding before trying to qualify them or just use a one hat fits all model.
