They have panels that will test for hundreds of genetic abnormalities. These tests would have been run to diagnose the cleft lip. They would have known.

@RonDeSantis A better question to ask is why so many parents willingly accept the enormous burden of homeschooling. People don’t choose the harder path out of eccentricity. They do it because they believe something has gone profoundly wrong with public schools.
