Subscription box business is not an easy business but it can work. I founded one (boxycharm) it was always profitable doubling each year. I exit the company on 2020. It’s gross rev was 465mm and 50mm in EBDA.

In order to make it, you need a product with high profit margins, and the cost to ratio needs to be few times over ( box price is 25 but retail is 150)
Then you have to perfect the experience and have a killer marketing.

Over all there where many companies who failed because they always had something missing or it was a question of “winner takes all”

If you go there, it’s all good until a better colony comes along. That explain why Birchbox didn’t make it ( IMO)
