@chapinthecity @timmyknudsen43 You're right, I highlighted that the entire block is often blocked with traffic in the bike lane. I see cops all the time in the neighborhood, surely I'd hoped they'd have noticed the same three or four cars camped out with their hazards on all day.
@chapinthecity Just wrote my alderman (and the alderman of this location) @timmyknudsen43 about this. As a regular user of this bike lane, I've had enough of it, too.
@cta this bus just fully ran a red light at North/Throop WB from the right hand turn lane, with oncoming turn traffic from North Ave eastbound. 3:35 PM, 3/3/2024. Are you going to do something about drivers who endanger other road users (drivers, cyclists, pedestrians alike)?
@Martina I promise you, as a member of the Chicago community and elite female cyclist, we’re celebrating this podium here in Chicago because Tess and Evelyn are our friends and we believe that trans women are women.
I used to look up to you as a junior tennis player, now I’m just sad.
Words matter. Use the active voice. A motorcyclist crashed into a group of cyclists, killing a world-class talent, and then attempts to flee before crashing again.
It is with an extremely heavy heart that we share the news that 17-year-old Magnus White has passed away in a training accident.

This is the real, human cost of mass surveillance of everyone's private digital communications.
If we actually care about keeping people safe, we need more end-to-end encryption not less.
@radioscubasteve @GladstonePkBiz Good luck visiting as a motorist… it’s an awful experience (no parking, congestion, limited space, etc.). The space was not designed with cars in mind, and is better that way imho.
Opening Fulton Market to cars has unleashed a level of auto congestion that I haven’t seen in other cities. Putting one lane roads in the middle of one of the city’s largest entertainment districts is stupid, ugly, and wasteful.
@DanielEWalters_ I seem to recall reading one of your papers on non-enforcement as a RegReview student suggesting that courts review agency non-action under the APA. Admittedly I haven’t kept up with APA litigation/decisions since law school so am unsure of whether the calculus has changed.
@xpostfactoid@jayhancock1@FTC@PeterWhoriskey It’s called the “friendly physician” model, and it’s so common that everybody does it. Digital health companies, PE companies, managed care, etc. States can regulate it if they want to—CPOM laws are outdated. Ownership/affiliation disclosures are one area that states may consider
@jayhancock1@xpostfactoid@FTC@PeterWhoriskey Re: (1), I’m not sure PE investors are violating CPOM laws. The way the deals are structured, practice groups pay PE-backed MSOs a (usually large) percentage of revenue under a Management Services Agreement, while also restructuring the practice group for more PE-friendly terms.
