It's day 90 of total darkness at that Federal government run teaching hospital.
There's a president in the country. There's a ministry of works. We're not at war. No one is bothered. It's nothing serious.
We keep attacking Drs. See we are in trouble o. Luth as large as it is doesn’t have a junior resident Dr in internal medicine at least for the time I was there.
The masses don’t understand when we keep shouting, striking and clamoring.
We need to hold out govt accountable
How can every Dr in Nigeria have the same complaints and not a single one of our leaders want to make things right?💔
We won’t stop having doctors in Nigeria, but we sure won’t be having doctors who are committed.
Interview: Nurain Takuma and @beehatu 💯🙏🏻

It is beautiful to see that while many Health Institutions are waiting for Implementation of the working hours regulation policy, some like the pediatrics department at FUTH Lafia (formerly DASH) is taking proactive measures to create a relaxed roster for its doctors.
The department has sustained giving extra rest days for the doctors especially the House officers for the past 7 months since our advocacy began, regardless of the number of HO’s present in the department . They have shown that it is possible to provide a flexible working environment for the junior doctors without even having laws to guide it.
It is time we start encouraging other institutions and departments to adopt this strategy. We can achieve it💯🙏🏻
WELL DONE TO PEDIATRIC DEPARTMENT, FUTH LAFIA💐💯🙌🏻🙌🏻

This is truly remarkable 💯. There is a huge gap in research knowledge between Nigerian medical students/doctors and their colleagues in other countries. @JohnsonTitus01 deserves all the support with this initiative 💯💯🙌🏻

20hrs From now, @NGRSenate hearing on “ Abolishing continued work after 24hrs call” will hold.
Our Advocacy has been in the good interest of our dear Nigerian doctors who work tirelessly to protect our health. Our call has been to our mother organization @MDCNOfficial appealing for a review in the working hours of Nigerian doctors and for possible abolition of the detrimental practice of continued work after 24hrs in-hospital call.
We believe that this is in line with @Fmohnigeria policies in mitigating the negative effect of “japa syndrome” so as to address health workforce shortage in Nigeria.
Our healthcare system needs resilient health workforce to be able to attain universal health coverage as part of the @UN sustainable development goals 3.
To everyone who has made this possible so far, distinguished senator @SenatorYaradua , thank you so much.🙏🏻
God help us🙏🏻

My Suicide Note: i am sorry i let you all down. But don’t judge me before listening to my story 😭💔. Here it is in 4mins…..
We have made a significant progress in our call for the regulation of doctors working hours in Nigeria. We have called for what is right, and God is helping us get it.
Tomorrow the 22/10/2024 is set by the @NGRSenate committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions to hear our appeal for the @MDCNOfficial to regulate the working hours of Nigerians doctors and consider abolishing the practice of continued work after 24hrs call, as submitted through distinguished senator @SenatorYaradua on 13/06/2024.
This is indeed a great achievement for every Nigerian doctor and the Nigerian citizen. We are hoping for the best 🙏🏻

UPDATE:
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the @NGRSenate committee on ethics, code of conduct and public petitions chaired by distinguished senator @SenNedaImasuen for giving us the opportunity to have our petition heard.
Both I and Dr Abdulmusawwir Ahmad sincerely apologize for our Absence physically, due to the circumstances surrounding our presence in the UK. We submitted an apology letter and requested for a representative to read out “our statement” signed by us.
Our Representative Dr Abdulbasit Ahmad was going to read out our statement regarding the petition, but i believe there was a miscommunication, an error from our own side.
We will rectify all mistakes and come back again as advised.
Our sincere gratitude goes to Dr Abdulbasit Ahmad and the team of doctors who were with him today on ground to represent the thousands of concerned Nigerian doctors who were waiting to hear the outcome of today’s meeting.
The online petition has garnered over 4700 signatures https://t.co/VvwRtrOzw6.
and it is indeed the collective effort and the hope of every Nigerian doctor for a better healthcare system.
Our sincere gratitude to the representatives from @MDCNOfficial who took their time to attend this hearing.
To every Nigerian doctor, hang in there. We will get it right, sooner or later. Thank you all for massive support.
