राण्या कन्नड़ फिल्मों में काम करती हैं । पिछले साल दुबई से 14 किलो गोल्ड स्मगल कर बेंगलुरू ले आई थी. रान्या को DRI (डायरेक्टोरेट ऑफ रेवेन्यू इंटेलिजेंस) ने एयरपोर्ट से ही गिरफ्तार कर लिया था.

राण्या 1 साल में 30 बार दुबई गई और जब इन्हें गिरफ्तार किया गया तो उनके पास से 14 किलो सोना निकला।

डीआरआई के अनुसार  जब रान्या सोना स्मगल करके भारत आती थी, तो खुद को आईपीएस की बेटी बताकर घर ड्रॉप करने के लिए एयरपोर्ट पर स्थानीय पुलिसकर्मियों को बुला लेती थी.
