Dear Barr. Caleb Mutfwang,
I write to you today with a deep sense of patriotism, and as someone who not only voted for you but also invested my platforms, resources, and energy to ensure your victory. I take pride in knowing that, however small my contribution, it counted in the grand scheme that delivered your resounding triumph.
You emerged as a beacon of hope for Plateau State after the years of despair under the APC administration led by Barr. Simon Bako Lalong. Many of us took time to study your record in Mangu as chairman, and we heard, like an orchestra of testimonials, how you delivered in those days. We were convinced beyond doubt that you were the right man for the job.
Your victory was historic. From the villages where elderly women sang your praises, to the cities where youths poured into the streets in jubilation, it felt like more than just a political win; it felt like salvation.
Even when your mandate was contested in the courts, you prevailed, reaffirming the people’s faith in you.
When faced with the hostile politics of the Plateau State House of Assembly, you played your hand brilliantly, dismantling the APC’s impeachment plot like a masterful chess player. Despite being in the minority, you navigated those treacherous waters and kept the house together, while your development strides continued to soar.
But today, sir, things have changed.
The PDP is crumbling nationally, with a new coalition under the ADC drawing heavyweights away. Here at home, the APC now holds the speakership in the Plateau Assembly. Just last week, a key pillar of your 2023 victory "The Masquerade" crossed over to the APC. And news reports this week indicate that you may be leaning towards aligning with the APC and its presidential ambitions for 2027.
Sir, this is not only disheartening, it is deeply disappointing.
Need I remind you that Plateau State has never been an APC stronghold? The people have rejected the APC at the presidential level since its inception. Joining the APC will not change that fact, it will only alienate the very people who put you in office.
If, as some speculate, this is a matter of political survival or “interest,” then I urge you to take a cue from others: Nyesom Wike has not formally defected, yet he manages his political alliances effectively without abandoning his base. You could do the same.
My sincere appeal: Do not join the APC, sir.
The same people who sang your praises in 2023 will weep bitterly if you turn to the very party that brought them pain. And I can assure you, if you “port” to the APC, you will go down in history as Plateau’s first one-term governor since 1999. Many, including myself, will actively campaign against you. We will mobilise family, friends, and constituencies to ensure that you do not return to that seat.
Think carefully, sir: the same individuals who inflicted hardship on our people will become your closest allies and stakeholders if you defect. How do you explain that to the people who trusted you to deliver them from those very hands?
Some may say:
"This is politics. It’s about interest. This is how it’s done."
But I say: No. If your interest is truly the people of Plateau, then you have only one job, stay with them. Do not betray their trust by joining the APC.
You still have a chance to say No. If you choose otherwise, then prepare for the consequences. What awaits you will surprise you as much as your 2023 victory surprised the APC. It will be obvious, it will be recorded, and generations will remember.
Have a thoughtful day, Your Excellency.
Regards,
Jerry.
As an ardent fan of Tourism, I see what Mutty is doing with Wild Life Park, Hill Station Hotel, and Plateau Hotel, and truly, I can't wait to see the finished products. If these strides had been focused on years ago, we would have been farther than we are now.
Dear Jos
May I? If I may? I may?
Tin City Metro starts tomorrow 7th of May.. Terminus to Rayfield, Jos to Bukuru is FREE between tomorrow and next.
Now you all can enjoy good governance. 😎

Hi Twitter,
Another Guinness World Record (@GWR) attempt.
Hilda inspired this thread - follow me.
In 2016, September 17th precisely, I had an idea to explore nature places within Jos Plateau state and beyond. I had about 300 people crazy enough to explore Shere Hills, a tourist haven in Jos North. That was the maiden expedition. I called the idea Jos Hike It (@joshikeit), registered it with CAC and we never looked back 7yrs later.
September every year became really significant for us in Jos Hike It because that became our anniversary month. We go up and above to stage mega hikes every September.
In 2017, we hosted a hike that saw about 500+ people come together devoid of any racial, ethnic, or religious differences. One year later, in 2018, we doubled the number to 1,124+ people on a single hike. This was yet a milestone. We used social media, esp Facebook Ads to make this feat possible.
Myself and my team sat down and yet again, wanted to pull out another dove from our hat, we tripled the last number to 3,000. At the end of the day, we were able to host 3,811+ people. We had people from Canada, USA, Bangladesh, and other African countries deliberately making the trip to Jos to attend this talked about hike. Aside using social media for publicity, we used banners and we wrote lots of letters to different orgs in Jos. Boom! it worked.
We won an award for the best use of social media in Plateau state in 2019. It was a great year for us.
In 2020, covid19 happened, we ran into the shadows, until 2022. This time we wanted to host 5,000 in a single expedition. I reeled up @GWR and realized that the highest number recorded for a single hike in the world is 815 people in Iraq. lol. So we broke a Guinness World Record without knowing it?
We thought that this 5,000 man hike will be herald around the world. So, we contacted @GWR , exchanged emails and we needed to pull up funds for some of their services. We contacted many sponsors like @MTNNG and @GloWorld among others. We were guest to several meetings in their offices in Jos, wrote proposals, etc, but nothing came forth (could it be because we are not in Lagos?lol). We sent emails to so many companies, either no replies or declined requests. Frustratingly, we did not host the hike that year.
Why this is important to us? Because Plateau state has had a bad narrative making the rounds on the internet, we wanted to change that and tell the world we are the epitome of tourism in Nigeria. We want to use the hike to promote peaceful co-existence within citizens and unity also. This is our simple contribution. We want the world to come to us.
The Barr Lalong Administration did not help also even after going to the govt for funding for this globally acclaimed project. Yet again, I submitted proposals but nothing happened. We thought a sane govt would jump on this on hearing it. I was excited to see Gov of Lagos at Hilda's Kitchen as she sets that record. Can't say same with my gov. but then...
If funding comes in, this September, of 2023, we intend to pull up more than the standing Guiness World Record for most people in a single hike in the world with 5,000 people. If you know a company who should be funding this project, please tag/mention them under this tweet. Hopefully the @CalebMutfwang administration can also look into this milestone attempt and sponsor/endorse it. Also, we will probably crowdfund just to meet financial demands for this huge project. Do you think crowdfunding will work?
This means a lot to us at Jos Hike It and we want to actualize it. We wanted to do this in 2022 but did not happen. We feel, this can only be delayed but never denied.
The Hilda success inspired us to dust our files and get back to planning until we get this done. We want to be on the Guinness World Record. This is not a Jos thing, but a Nigerian thing, an African thing.
Do you have any thoughts for us, please share under this tweet. KIndly RT, perhaps we may receive sponsorship deals from this tweet and make this happen.

We can't wait for all these irresponsibility on the part of the @LalongBako administration to come to an end. The people have had enough for 8 gruesome years. It's time for radical change. It's time for #GCM . 10 days more to a new dawn. #TheTimeIsNow@tea_gomos@manshaklawson
