starting to think I got drilled in the head with a golf ball last Thursday and the last 4 days have been a brain-bleed fuelled dream while I'm laying face down in a bunker
@Cosmicneurons13@jimmysstew@ProfessorLGRW I mean we all know what happened with Federov and the Wings. We eventually welcomed him back and his jersey retirement was def a pretty special moment for everyone.
@jimmysstew@Cosmicneurons13@ProfessorLGRW I am with yah! However, I think the only way Stevie steps down (or moves to another management position) is if he decides to. The Illitch’s seem to have a lot of trust in him.
@jimmysstew@Cosmicneurons13@ProfessorLGRW Exactly, I’m sure you can get talent in any round, you just need to get some luck. Look at guys like Datsyuk, Zetterberg or Marchand who went outside the first round!
@jimmysstew@Cosmicneurons13@ProfessorLGRW To be honest, no I didn’t think it would be this long. I also didn’t think we have bad draft lottery positions (gotta roll with it tho), TD & FA being much harder to acquire players or collapses the last 3 years. Have I lost faith in Stevie, no? Do I think he’s gotta do 1/2
@Cosmicneurons13@jimmysstew@ProfessorLGRW I’m a Wings fan who happens to live in Ottawa.
I agree that 1LW is our top priority however I’m yet to be convinced that Kasper or Finnie would be a true 2C. Would need to see more from them but also realistically they are our best bet as of right now.
@jimmysstew@Cosmicneurons13@ProfessorLGRW Would love to see Stevie pick up a top 6 via trade and shakeup our bottom 6 in FA. I think that would get us over the playoff hump.
As someone who grew up in the valley and now lives in Ottawa, I was bummed to see the Sens swept. I think on the cusp of making a solid run
@jimmysstew@Cosmicneurons13@ProfessorLGRW Postava (younger than Cossa) may fight Cossa for the starter in the playoffs. He could also be a piece to move or we may also see him up in Detroit next yr
@jimmysstew@Cosmicneurons13@ProfessorLGRW I mean Cat had a career year in pts and Larkin goals so objectively there’s no sign in them slowing down. I think if we fail to make the playoffs for the next 3+ years I could see 1 or both of them being traded. You’re right tho, our top line will need youth to replace them.
@jimmysstew@Cosmicneurons13@ProfessorLGRW Cossa will require waivers next yr so he could potentially be a trade piece if he doesn’t have a deep run for GR in the playoffs.
@CassellDawg17@The_Mexinadian My guess is their goal was to win out the rest of the games so they were probably trying to stick with the original lines. Why else would Larkin, Ed, Raymond be playing when they’re clearly injured?
